  1. sooner rather than later we will see the charges being capped at £12. fair enough the bank can argue that i should not have gone over my limit but hey...not everyone is perfect. :-( cant wait to see how much i been charged over the past 6 years!

  2. anyone else fed up of getting charged 30 if they go 50p over their limit?

    check out this site:

    http://www.which.net/campaigns/personalfinance/bankingcharges/index.html

there are 3 letters on the site which you can send to your bank about unauthorised ods.

just sent the 1st of three letters to my bank today asking how much i have been charged over the past 6 years. The next letter says that i would like it back from them as the cost of the charges does not reflect the cost to the bank from me going over my limit. The 3rd letter says that if they don't give it back i will tkae them to the small claims court!

apparently they dont want it to go that far because they know that will set a precedent and then they will get floods of claims.

anyway if you been getting robbed by the bank fire the 1st 2 letters away to them. cant do any harm! :gringo:

  5. loooooooooonnnnngggesssssttttt sentence in the wwoooorrrrllldddddd...............

You said you didnt want my life story, then you said it was a generalisation, but thats the point surely if it can happen, even to a small number of people it's a good thing to keep an influx of people into the Aberdeen gigging scene - I was never suggesting for a second that a large number of people go to see smaller bands after getting the bug from bigger bands - otherwise everyy band would be playing the AECC - but there are people who realise they enjoy going to see live music from going to bigger gigs which you seem willing to admit to, so why try and start some kind of slagging match anyway ?
  6. Danny Carey a school band drummer? erm ok Justin chancellor to? does technical excellence make a band better? Michael Angelo is one of the most amazing guitarists ever, but personally i think his music is utter shite cause there is no feeling to it.

Neurosis are probably the most boring live band i have ever seen in my life... whereas i don't think that i will ever see a better live band than tool. Would hardly say that tool bore audiences to death either...

Let's face it. In terms of musical ability and live shows' date=' acts like Neurosis and Today is the Day make Tool seem like a school band, and have been ahead of this game far longer than them, without boring audiences to death. Tool are a gateway band to better things, or you could just do yourself a favour and miss em out.

If i remember correctly, Fantomas, Cult of luna and Mastodon played this thing last year, although I don't know that for certain. That said the size of acts this thing is attracting means they could have an amazingly varied bill ... far better than any of the British festivals. Which basically means I wished I could go, just to see what it's like.[/quote']

  7. haha. Aye well once i've finished my degree in scatology i'm hooked up with a job in Uranus...USA.

OK - you got me' date=' I'm taking your bait.

SO FUCK OFF AND LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE BEFORE YOU DO ANY MORE DAMAGE. Christmas island would be a suitable destination.

I'm the ugly, rough looking pirate fucker with the broken nose, and the lumpy face. No, not very EMO.[/quote']

What Hoggle from the Labryinth?

  8. didn't take it personally at all...just a bit of banter;-) don't think that i ever said that i identified with the bad guy either did i? just because i stated my opinion on the 'deen i identify with the bad guy?! never said that it was the worst city in the world either did i? different folks different strokes and all that :-) i have a far better joke for you to...why did the supermodel stare at the orange juice? cause it said concentrate on the carton. hilarious i know...

    o_O

wow' date=' you took that a bit personally.

I don't live in bieldside, or cults and never have. I live in a flat near holburn which I work everyday to pay the mortgage on, so you can fuck off with that one thanks.

I'll give you the witty one but unfortunately I shaved off my beard and I'm not emo, so you're wrong with those ones too.

Incidentally the egotistical twat bit was just a joke as you seemed to identify more with the bad guy in the book than the main character, that's all.

Of course Aberdeen isn't the greatest city in the world, the point I was making is that it's also not that bad. The positives in Aberdeen and the surrounding area far outway the negatives.[/quote']

  9. wow! have you been reading my C.V? Sounds like you are describing yourself with the egotistical twat bit though :-) yeah i agree about the scenery but that is in the Grampian region not the city itself. Yeah the council is shit too...but you can't possibly compare aberdeen to glasgow or edinburgh or any other city. That is the problem with folk in aberdeen in general...they tend to think that this city is the dogs bollocks (suppose fair enough if you are born and bred here) but the truth is its not. Life is to short to live in Aberdeen for any length of time. I mean this city is even behind dundee in everyway and dundee is just somewhere that you drive through to get to better cities.Personally i would say that we have a pretty high crime rate for the size of the city to. The highest number of crack addicts in Scotland sound familiar? (oh yeah you probably live in Bieldside or Cults with your mUm and Dad so you wouldn't see any of that) . anyway rant over...i await your witty, beardy, emo reply. :swearing:

So like the character that slags off Aberdeen in that book' date=' are you an egotistical, mass murdering twat as well? By all means read that book, it's fantastic, but don't make the mistake that Aberdeen City Council made and assume that the whole book is an advert for how bad Aberdeen is. If you read past the first chapter the main character paints a much better picture later on.

Aberdeen's just like any other city in the world. It's as good as you make it, or as bad as you let it. Personally I love Aberdeen and the North East. It's home and always will be, no matter where I happen to be.

We have some of the best scenery in the world, some great places to just relax and hang out, good entertainment, great restaurants and on the whole great people. Compared to other parts of Scotland and the UK we have high employment, low crime and great wealth. We also have a drugs problem, neds and a planning department that's lost any common sense. But you can't have it all your own way.[/quote']

  10. STAY AWAY THIS CITY SUCKS SO BAD...MOVE HERRE AND SEE WHAT I MEAN. it smells of fish to :-( and you get a lot of people whon think that they are 'all that' sure its the same in most cities except its so small here you always see them. if you want to read about aberdeen read the first few pages of 'a Big Boy did it and ran away' by Chris Brookmyre- couldn't have put it better myself...;-)

  11. I have recently come to the conclusion' date=' after listening to excess AC/DC, that Angus young is a bloody genius! I think he has to be one of the most stylish and under-rated lead guitarists out there! I think he has to fit into my top 3 all-time favourite guitarists (out of a list of about 50+ heh)! Just though I'd say that. :D

Who agrees / disagrees / why?

    Andy

P.S. On a side note, isn't it shit the ozzies claimed Angus & Malc as their own?! They even have bloody Australian accents!! How can you be born & raised in Glasgow for 17 & 19 years repectively then suddenly, bam! G'day Mate! Honestly, an "Australian" band with 2 Glaswegians, a Geordie, an Englishman & 1 Australian! Even poor old Bon Scott was from bloody Edinburgh![/quote']

aye. malc is the real secret weapon in the band tho...he didn't want to play lead cause it got in the way of his drinking
