On the other shoe folks, what if I was relying on the money coming in for bills etc?
The buyer was kept in touch with the situation and agreed.
In sure he could be done with the money, as could I
-
Nope, don't like wine :-)
We are both inconvenienced on this deal, through the buyers fault not mine.
Love how these threads go off topic lol
-
And just to put a little perspective on the off topic les Paul, I've since seen the buyer in the pub a few times :-)

uote="fertuiee, post: 765743, member: 3150"]who HAS this guitar? you or him? please tell me you have it?.....this thread is a classic in the making....

He was alwys polite but was never offered it at higher price, but wouldn't have had the money anyway.
I only felt buyers should be aware what could happen.
No contract as such but emails, a phone call and an agreed time and date of collection is pretty close in my book, lol
quote="keeno, post: 765735, member: 4425"]Re-reading this post I actually agree with you. This happened to me once before. I agreed to guy a guitar from someone for his asking price (notice I didn't lowball him, just said I will pay the price you set), then he messaged to say someone offered a bit more and that as I was the first to express an interest, if i matched that offer I could get it at that price. I didn't even bat an eyelid to that tbh or think of it as 'mercenary/unhonourable behaviour'. I stumped up the extra cash and still have the guitar to this day. It was my favourite and most cherished until the customs came along
So as long as you were polite, explained the situation and offered Ronz a fair chance to buy it for the same price someone else offered then I really have absolutely no problem with this. I retract my previous statement about you being wrong unless there was some implication of a contract (such as handshake, exchanging money etc).
-
Of course it wasn't, it was agreed he would be buying It, has no reason to think otherwise
-
Ok, look at it like his. If he'd wen into a store and done that what do you think would happen?
They wouldn't even give him his money back.
He didn't say when he WANTED to buy it that he was skint so therefore I was doing him a favour.
He can still buy it or get refunded when I get a new buyer.
Simples
-
I could have sold that guitar but held it for about 12 weeks for him.
He can still buy it for the price I offered him.
Lesson, don't agree to buy anything you can't afford.
Again, very simple business :-)
-
Im not bad mouthing him at all, just making potential buyers aware of some pitfalls.
Sellers choice as far as im concerned. Yes it may be annoying to Ronz, but Stroops is well within his rights, until money has been exchanged he has the right to change his mind. Coming on here to bad mouth a poster most folk like is daft as well. -
Yes bob it is. I agreed to sell that guitar for a good price and the buyer agreed to give me £100 a week.
He made 2 deposits then said he had no more money.
He is aware that he can still buy the guitar for agreed price or when it sells his money will be refunded.
Pretty fair of me I'd say :-)

Yeah, that's why I have been pming the guy on here selling the ampeg cab etc, lol
Relax, you're not the first and won't be the lady, Im old school, in my eyes a deals a deal.

Nothing hypocritical about it, if I make an offer the seller can say yes or no, very very simple .
As for thinking less of me, you don't know me so that's fine.
Lol
Ronz
I don't see why you bothered posting this tbh. Regardless of the money you offered, I can see why you feel aggrieved, however the way to respond to that is not by being a dick and trying to shame someone publicly. Two wrongs don't make a right. If anything it just makes me think even lower of you for doing so. You already have a less than favourable reputation on here due to your constant barrage of insultingly low offers on other peoples gear. All this talk of honour and money calls into mind a little statement about people in glass houses. While you may not go back on your word it is not 'honourable' to go low balling everyone trying to sell gear; nor do you seem like you don't care about money as you ask what I consider to be fair-high prices for your gear yet seem unwilling to pay fair prices when anyone else is selling something. It all smells of hypocrisy.

Lol,robbing you blind? You ever heard of the "NO" word.
You chose to accept the offer,it's all I had or I was buying an amp.
You said money means more than honour to you?
Good luck in life,lol.

Just thought I'd post this to show what buyers may be up against.
Had agreed a price with Stroopy121 for the Gibson bass. Exchanged emails, spoken on the phone and agreed a collection point and time.
Then gets a text saying that been offered more money so won't now be selling it to me.
Now,as they know I was looking at an Ampeg online(finished Wednesday) and could only buy one. They were well aware of this and agreed to sell the bass.
So now because of greed I am left with neither a bass or the Ampeg I wanted.
I got the standard ," I'm sorry man" email but it still pisses me right off that people can still behave like that.
If you didn't want to sell it at that price then you shouldn't have agreed, you knew I was looking at the Ampeg.
In my book a deal is a deal.
Guess money means more to some people than honouring a deal.
Rant over.
Ronz.
P.s..anybody got an Ampeg?
