Is that the band who are basically a cheap imitation of The View (Yes, I didn't think that could be possible either)?
The indie scene in the UK seems to be so bad that cheap imitations are copying other cheap imitations.
You can make up your mind by listening to them at http://http://www.myspace.com/onenightonlyonline

steve milne I believe
The above is correct. He told me himself that he is booking the bands at Moshulu.

Haha did you try the porridge? It was good gear. Particularly the Cranachann flavour - Mmm.
When's Amy Sawers next Aberdeen gig? I got a bit annoyed at the unfairness of life because she was a zihillion times better than the likes of Sandi Thom. But I fancy Sandi Thom. So it's okay.
Amy Sawers next gig is on 14th September 2007 at the Tunnels, her sister Kathyrn Sawers is also playing.. Also in the line-up is Green Pony and the Kitchen Cynics.

Excellent, that means I can fuck off after Shutter and Gas Giant and not have to watch them.

Syrus - more info at www.myspace.com/syrustheband

I think Post Rock legends Gas Giant and Shutter are playing Drummonds this saturday...
Can anyone tell me if there are any other bands playing? doors? stage times etc?
Shutter have just put up some new tracks on their myspace www.myspace.com/shutterscotland
According to Drummonds website, the other bands are Syrus and Lady Mercedes.
I don't know the stage times.

Atleast 2 members of Red Mongoose live on Aberdeen - Simon Patchett and Colin White.
-
Judging by kef i'd say 9 ish
Cheers for that.

Any onstage times please ?
-
What time is the band going to be onstage please ?
-
Well they've drasticallly changed their sound...
Yes, Diablo.
Chaz McHardy (from the band) told me that their gig they played at Revolution was the last one as Diablo. They have now changed their name to Incasino. This is intended to give themselves a fresh start, and to avoid confusion with oher bands called Diablo. The band members are identical to those in Diablo.

I think you are right actually.
I caught Arrowspeed once and I quite enjoyed them.
You are correct. The band has changed it's name from Lift, to Arrowspeed and now Talk Show.
They played their first gig as Talk Show last night at the Tunnels, and performed a rather good set.
You can check them out at http://www.myspace.com/talkshowband

If you're in Glasgow on 20th September 2006, Ewan MacFarlane is playing a solo acoustic charity gig in aid of the Red Cross at Barfly.
David Rollo (who supported the GNS at the last Drummonds gig) is also included in the line up.
Should be a cracking night. I'm going down for it.

Shame you had to leave before the end, Ross.
Missed the part of yet another qaulitiy gig from GNS.
Try and catch Ewan MacFarlane solo acoustic, if you maybe hav'nt heard him on him on his own before, he is as good as the full band, if not even better ?
I hear he his maybe lookng for a solo gig in Aberdeen. Hopefully he and/or GNS will be back soon in Aberdeen.
Any opinions on the 2 new nembers of the band, anybody?

Young Bands in Aberdeen
in Music Discussion
Posted
I suggest that you might contact Foyer in Aberdeen. They provide rehearsal and recording facilities for bands, predominately in the 14 to 25 age group. though most are of school age. They also put on gigs for the bands.
Their site is Foyerlive
Contact names are Dave Stewart and Steve Buchan.
PM me if would like some contact details for individual young bands.
