    Moshulu Saturday 25th October @ 9pm - 5 (entry to AIS included!)

Advance tickets available HERE or from ONE UP

    Hidden Masters

    www.myspace.com/hiddenmasters

Built from the bones and gristle of The Needles grave. Hidden Masters are a lesson in how live performances should be done.

Apocalyptic psyche soul with a shifty backbeat, space age choral interludes and an old timey chutzpa.

    Punch And The Apostles

    www.myspace.com/punchandtheapostles

A riotous, seven piece, with accordions and horns to the fore, they have already blasted a niche for themselves for outstanding live performances.

Their songs are distinctly original, brilliantly rousing and gloriously anarchic. Honesly not to be missed!

    Le Reno Amps

    www.myspace.com/lerenoamps

Described as the Swiss army knife of music. They Shift seemlessly from country-rock to metal powerchords to pop, with a grin, and a clutch of lusty harmonies by the foursome.

    The Vandelays

    www.myspace.com/thevandelays

With comparisons from the Smiths to Weezer the Vandelys sound is packed with harmonious vocals, melodic guitars and power pop punch.

    PLAYDOE (LIVE!)

    MySpace.com - PLAYDOE - ZA - Rap / Electro / New Wave - www.myspace.com/fuckplaydoe

Hailing from South Africa, Playdoe's protagonists Spoek and Sibot/DJ Fuck ventured to Paris and New York on their quest to channel an array of global dance and urban influences. The result, a sound with heady ingredients such as French disco, old skool hip hop, pulsating Casios, ghetto-tech, Missy meets B-More filth and alll embracing urban electro.

Their EP IT'S THAT BEAT is out on Try Harder Records (Foals, Blood Red Shoes) later this month.

With re-rubbs by the likes of Dan Le Sac and Toxic Avenger, its insistent hooks, juddering electro and an MC imploring all manner of after hours misdemeanour, put simply, its dancefloor gold.

    MASH (DJ)

    MySpace.com - MASH - Glasgow, UK - House / Electronica / Disco House - www.myspace.com/djmash

AKA Deep Iain, is a purveyor of only the best in underground house music in the North East's finest sound emporium. His ship sails smoothly with the waves of disco, electro, funk, house, minimal, fidget and ALL things deep. This is a lesson in quality music from a DJ/producer whose career has seen him release records on Derrick Carter's Classic imprint, Ralph Lawsons 2020Vision, New York's Chez and German pioneer Playhouse - to name a few.

  3. havent had any time to practice with it but got a couple of cool ideas for it.

patty from rhandleft has been using it in their accoustic sets and says it sounds ace.

    im sure ill manage

We were rockin the Omni at Pattys the other night bleezin drunk...They are ace.

Got one on the birthday wish list. We should have an Omni night at Moshulu

  4. You wont ever see me using an ipod to dj, i dont even know how to work my ipod at home let alone dj with it.....mine has 4 records on it at the moment.

id use my records if moshulu had turntables and i didnt think the bass would make the needle jump like a bitch!

i dont see what the fuss is about cd djing these days, cds are handy coz i cant afford to buy records like i used to all the time or be arsed luggin them around like i did briefly before.also, the decks you get now are mental the things you can do and theyll play your cds even if theyre absolutely fuckod!

for me - ebay alone and online record shopping is fucking dangerous! i cleared my overdraft and sunk in again when i used to work bored in an office job buying online.

foals DJ set should be a good night tho, they are meant to be quite good DJs (one of them is particularly meant to be good - Edwin im told - according to m friends in london town).

And they played good stuff last time in moshulu (back room party).

The question is do they play the hits like "ass and titties" by Dj assualt? eh ? eh ? eh?

    Actually they probably will.

I was in a mess last time, thought theyd left so i played hummer to finish coz it was heaving, looked up to see them all at the bar - i had a beetroot face for 10 mins after that.

maxi - if your worried about shit merch ripoffs, ill sell you a little kicks tee / cd and badge combo for a discount rate, ill even throw in a hug (no touching tho). and the t-shirt isnt obviously a kicks tee so you can wear it whether you like us or not - nobody will know!

    genius i know

    cue mad trolley dash.....not

They better play Ass n Titties...Or you better Stevie boy!!

"...Stankin ass bitches that need to wash up

Dont get mad when i dont want to fuck

You need soap and water, soap and water

Soap and water, Soap and Water..."

    Ace

  5. The statement "nothing is true unless it can be empirically proven" is itself unprovable.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no fundamentalist, but surely this fervant belief in the need for empirical proof is arguably no less deluded than putting faith in any religion? The enlightenment taught us about the importance of science and gave us many advances in the fields of medicine, physics, astonomy etc. But it also left a legacy of belief that unless something can be measured, weighed and quantified it is not worth documenting.

Dawkins' books on evolutionary biology are extremely well written, but he got out of his depth with theology. To see just how well "The God Delusion" isn't written, read "The Dawkins Letters" by David Robertson. It's full of well-reasoned, logical counter-arguments to the points Dawkins raises in his book. And when these issues were raised on his website, Dawkins called Robertson "a dangerous fruitcake", rather than engage in serious debate with him.

Im my eyes its not a case of "fervant belief in the need for empirical proof".

Some proof, a little fact and a bit of hard evidence will do and off we go a bit more knowledgeable about our past and future.

Rather than blindly following an old cobbled together, non factual, story book and a non existent supernatural character, taking his word as "the truth" and not looking, questioning, discovering, learning and thinking.

"a legacy of belief that unless something can be measured, weighed and quantified it is not worth documenting"- but isnt everything quantifiable one way or another?

I have read sum of Mr Robersons "Dawkins letters". He doesn't really make a decent counter argument or give evidence to back up his staunch beliefs and rambles on about how terrible the world would be without religion...and has a sly dig at Islam etc. I would expand but need to get some work done then got to bed.

Seems like a cop out I know.

  6. is that a jizz rag next to him?!

I did like Dawkins reading out the emails from "christians"...I think that these people have forgotton what "christian" means...

and, a bone of contention I have with the word "christian" in that context - can you not be good, kind, compassionate, caring, loving, selfless....if you are a muslim?

seems like us white folks have the corner on "being good" (read Christian)...

as for Saf-one, I know he meant "things you can't see still exist (with PROOF)" but, he didn't explain that really plainly enough, any christian could have jumped on the point and said "well, you can't see god, but he exists" (yes....where is that proof? "the bible"..."that's not proof" "yes it is" "no it's not" "yes it is"....etc

it's all shite till we get a "dead-o-scope" and find out what happens (I KNOW we compost and feed worms - which makes me think straight away, *"ace, no concequences, I'll go a nd rape some gilrs and start killing people, 'cos I ain't going to be judged by a God!...whoo hooo"....

    * yes, of course it does.

Yeah your right about the "Christian" emails. Nasty bastards.

And yes the bible as proof argument...They love it!

"Its says in the Bible, so it must be true!"

You bring up another very valid point Lepeep - Consequence.

Its one thing religion does do well is promote a (usually) socially responsible, decent moral structure in people.

Dont murder, dont steal, be nice etc or god will be well pissed and off to hell you go.

Without this "threat" of a big beardy one in the sky gonna send you off to burn forever in the afterlife and our politically correct, human rights gone mad, holiday camp correctional facilities...there is no real consequence for bad peoples actions...uh ooooh.
