Hey, ive been jammin down in jamaica the last 2 weeks and have had no contact with anyone who has a clue about music. Any interesting news? How was Glasto? Did Live 8 live up to its expectations, hows oasis tour going on? and are there any really cool bands been announced to play in aberdeen lately.
Cheers.

mccartney is a hero, i lost a scene point for bigging him up on the live 8 thread, robbery!!!
-
Fuck Yeah!!
-
I saw the smiths v morrissey, i mean thats like two acts who are completely different
-
Hahaha' date=' does everyone go to T in the Park to get drunk?
Sorry this post has been brought up again by the way, i just thought it was funny.
Going with my Mam and her chum so I'll be on my own most of the days. They dont want to camp either so I'll be staying at a travel inn rather than camping. Does that mean Iv been robbed of some of the experience?
fred[/quote']
You may enjoy about 10% of the full experience by just going to see the bands and not camping n getin pissed.
Although i dare say you will remember alot more than most of us.

The front man of the Complete stone roses was indeed superb' date=' sang and moved like Browner, was pretty good to watch. Thought the support were great too.[/quote']
wonder why u thought the support band were good?
-
Just back just now. What a great gig, they have the roses down to a tee. The lead singer was well up for it and really got the crowd going. Probs the best tribute band ive seen and would def go and see them again. The setlist was good aswell.
Anyone else see them?

I do it every year, get my hair cut in bout april then just b4 i go on holiday, usually july then grow it again til next april, give or take a few litlle trims. I hate the middle stage where its too long to style but not long enough to keep it down. Although i do notice that i pull alot more with short hair.
Check us having conversations about hair

with the kaiser chiefs playing at the us gig' date=' i think they must be goign for a profile boost
there are others too but this was one that stuck in my mind[/quote']
yeah i would def agree with you there, of course in a situation like this there will be bands who are doing it for publicity but not every other band as some people seem to think
-
I don't think you can say that every single band are doing this to get a bigger fanbase. I don't really think paul mccartney is doing this so he sells more records. I have to agree with Damon and top marks for saying something and rejecting doing it because he believes its not for the right reasons. However i cant see any harm coming from this, nobody will come out worse from it. I dont think theres anything wrong with organising a gig full of the 'top bands' and having a good time about it.

Im going, havent got my tickets yet tho.
-
Fucking brilliant!!!
-
Good god' date=' what the fuck are they doing playing there. The sound in there sucks. Moshulu or the Music Hall woulda ben better. Good band, shite venue.
[/quote']
A big band comes to aberdeen n all ppl can do is moan about the venue, i think its pretty cool that there coming to aberdeen n will def b there.
-
Cheers rob, always the first with the good news
-
when and where will tickets be sold?
-
Those dots suggests you were hoping for a reaction' date=' so what other bands are referring to? I'm thinking Bloc Party?[/quote']
exactly what i was thinking
-
But htat isn't the point of these concerts' date=' they're not asking for money, the concerts are even goign to be free. The point is to bring attention to a cause and to help people attempt to influence world leaders ahead of them meeting each other.[/quote']
well said
-
Will def be going to this
-
Worth it for THE CURE alone
yeah i would go just to see the cure and muse.
wouldnt mind seeing paul mccartney either
-
Spice Girls got dropped because they dont give a serious politcal message...fair enough but half the acts don't give any politcal message whatsoever.
yeah i know, keane are hardly political, and even if they were i wouldnt have them in my line up

The Others with the Rakes and the Ludes.
Not the best bands ive seen at the lemontree but was the best night. I think the others are really good live, especially liked the mini stage invasions and the on stage girl fight. The afterparty was a really good laugh aswell.
Really looking forward to the complete stone roses
