  1. i'm guessing from your failed attempt to be smart that the point is to make life hectic? I don't see what this will achieve but' date=' you know...go for it, follow your dreams![/quote']

You are stupid. If you'd like, I'll give you lessons in how to not be stupid. The point, and this is just for your benefit seeing as everyone else in the world I'm sure has already got it cause they're smarter than you, is...

We asked to play on the bill, because we're playing the next night, as sort of a warm-up show, seeing as we know that 1. Rapturefest is going to be heavequest with people, so it'd be good to get a run out the night before as we haven't played in a coupla' months and 2. We loved playing The Tunnels in December, and as anyone in a band knows, it's always a lot better to warm-up for a bigger show in a venue you're comfortable with.

Is that better for you? Do you understand yet?

    What a task..

  2. what is it with the tunnels and their random 'lets pick the bands out of a hat' line-ups. Or maybe it was a bit of a 'who can i get to support this gig? Ah fuck it i like the band so me and my mates from glasgow will do it'. Oh well at least flood of red are decent.

    Uh..

The gig was booked by The Tunnels, not by me...

Secondly, I think it's fair to say that the addition of ourselves and Flood of Red will get in a fair few more punters, which can only be good for Fuck Off Machete. No?

    Geez...

  3. Ok now I've had a chance to actually see MMW live' date=' I feel I'm in a position to give proper critism on them.

Firstly, their genre is not my thing at all. I thought that all I could hear was a Funeral for a Friend spin off band. I'm sorry, but the guitars and vocals didn't show any hint of originality. Infact all of the songs were too similar for me to even notice any difference between them. They are obviously not good at what they do, but from watching last night it is horrifically obvious that all they do is play up to this "emo" fad and give these whinging 13 year olds with piss poor haircuts another hour of songs to cry to.

That is my honest opinion, I thought that the guys seemed actually reasonable in real life, especially Jamesy (actually scratch that, the singer seems like a complete cunt, a total nancy boy and if he said "Thanks Guys" one more time I'm sure he would have starting crying on stage) but I just really can't see anything in the music that I would call original, or even interesting.

Other than that I'm glad the gig went well Hog, however your reasons for switching the order still remain a mystery to us...[/quote']

To be honest, I'm totally gutted with that post. I was hoping last night would be the end of all your bullshit. Time to get over it.

  4. I know you are not keen on playing Scorge but thanks for bearing with this gig you would rather not be at. Its for a good cause and I owe you a pint. Also the other bands esp MMW' date=' I am well chuffed that you guys can play.

The heckling between the 2 bands is fun :D[/quote']

If we're going to play, one of your bands has to play, preferably Spike.

  5. It'll be the other way around' date=' you obviously haven't seen the size of me in a while ......

See you on the 11th, you shower of bastards.......[/quote']

From now on, I've decided we're going to call you 'Knuckles' or 'Lunchbox', or possibly even 'Fido'.

  6. We'll do it, and we'll do it wherever you like, cellar 35, east neuk, hell, even find out if we could hire Drakes for a night, we'd love to do another show without a stage, maybe even play in the centre of a floor surrounded by people...

Rune - Remember Scott, you used to speak to me daily, you complimented MMw quite a lot, saying you were surprised by us, and that we weren't 'emo', we were metal, so stop being a twat, because you know me, and I know you, and you know you;re speaking total fucking bollocks..

I think this has been an interesting topic, although, I still think the views of MMw by the majority of DIY/Crust/Misled Blastcapites are totally inaccurate, btu hey, whatever, we're never ever going to agree, I'd really like to give this gig a go..

    Sharon?

  7. This track was recorded on about the 8th take' date=' pretty much live. We did the drums, bass and my guitar together. This was partly because of studio time constraints and partly because of time constraints of our old drummer Uncle Pesto who travelled up from East Kilbride. We now have local leg-end "The Stab" installed on a spike behind the kick drum, and are gearing up to do several months of work on our new album coming out April 1st 2006. Expect this to be the most professional Fat Hippy release yet![/quote']

    *cough cough*

    ;)

  8. I've heard a couple of tracks. Isn't this the one with the programmed drums?

If so I was mightly impressed with how good the programming was.

I'd be mighty surprised if all the drums were programmed what with Thomas Haake being pretty much the best drummer ever... I've heard a few tracks but as with their previous album 'nothing', not as much a fan as compared to their earlier albums: Destroy.erase.improve and chaosphere are both incredible!

Hog, if you haven't already done so... check out destroy.erase.improve - it's amazing!

    Dan Atom (not jamesy)

  9. When I was getting the shuttle bus back from Leeds festival (to the train station) I started talking to the girl next to me' date=' and when I mentioned I was from Aberdeen she mentioned My Mind's Weapon.

Which I thought was pretty cool, just talking to somebody random out of 60,000-odd people, seems like all the work the band are putting into things is paying off.

So all credit to you guys, cool to see Aberdeen people working hard to make a success of what they're doing.

Incidentally, when are the band playing the Barfly?[/quote']

We'll be there on the 16th, it'd be good to see you. Any idea who the girl was, I'd like to get in touch and say hey.

    Jamesy w.

    "My Mind's Weapon Demo 2005

Four very slick tracks of modern metalcore that have a nice 80's crossover to some of the heavier riffing and harsher voclas. Elsewhere though, the obligatory acoustic passages and plaintive vocal harmonies get a bit tiresome, but thankfully MMW seem more concerned with moshing it up than flicking their fringes at the girlies, never a bad thing. If Victory Records are gagging to sign a UK band right now (they're probably not), they could do a lot worse than give these lads a listen. [7.5/10]"
