  1. I'v been using Reason for a few years though iv came across an issue;

Upon loading my own samples into the NN-XT it gives me the message 'unrecognised file format' even though the files are .wavs and the preset instrument zones have .wavs loaded into them.

    any ideas?

  2. I actually feel sorry for Joe. It's not his fault the public are largely stupid and the alternative types are vindictive and narrow minded. Poor guy is just trying to make a name for himself. While i can't stand the type of music he's going to be churning out i think this whole thing is ridiculous and ultimately pretty pathetic.

When did "pop" music stop being allowed to be popular? Last time i checked 10 million people were watching the X Factor which kind of points to it being popular. I wouldn't say Rage Against The Machine were popular, good, but not popular. The whole song choice is so cliched as well. The lack of imagination displayed by this whole debacle is laughable.

If RATM end up number 1 for Christmas, that'll be what kills the UK Popular Music chart not people buying music they actually like because they like it. People buying music to spite someone is just idiotic.

Precisely. And somewhat a paradox, if its for the reasons of sticking up the proverbial middle finger to the 'system'.

  3. Exactly.

I'm now becoming a bit sad that everyone's buying all this anti-establishment shit now.

RATM are being used as a pawn by the Sony dudes, the X Factor dudes and now even the BBC to generate interest/publicity etc. RATM probably know this and aren't overly bothered because their publicity is being massively increased as well.

I'm not really one for going against the establishment or any of that stuff, but this all smacks of RATM "selling out" which makes an utter nonsense of what they claim to be doing.

    (in my opinion)

RATM have been doing that their entire career.

Cant they really be fucking the system when they actively let their albums sell in Wal Mart, one of the biggest US conglomerates? What happened to their ethics in the music once rage split up?

I'm assuming the reason RATM were chosen to boycott the Xfactor number one slot was because they have anti establishment ideals, but really they're just another version of the same thing, capitalising on inevitable confused emotions experienced being a teenager.

  4. Acctually, my spelling is correct.

You see, their name is loosely derived from the latin 'Sha ka ree', which is roughly translated to 'to spell'. Being the jesters as they may well infact be, they changed this in the spelling of their name for subtle irony, which tickles the very best of us.

As i'm sure your aware being that as you may not already forthwith.

  5. Sorry pal, I dont like it. one irritating hook for 2 minutes with generic musical devices isn't prog-house. maybe i expected too much from the title, and subsequnetly raised my expectations.

you could maybe lower or heighten the note of the underlying pedal or bass note every phrase or so for musical texture?

  6. Always loved the sounds you make from recordings and live, though, i don't think you guys will benifit from being a 5 piece, you had it perfectly nailed to the floor before 4. Adding to it will maybe convolute and confuse the raw sound. but whom am i to talk.

Hopefully i will be proved otherwise.

  7. Y'know i'm tired of all this teeny bopper pop music every christmas; Wow! lets really stick it to the system - rage against the machine for Christmas number one - thats soooo controversial - all those X factor kids will be crying 'cos they don't understand the harsh lyrics (hello, he swears?OMG) and anti corporation ideals that RATM so gainfully employ - that'll really shake things up and our lives can gain some weak purpose and meaning in our otherwise confused and indefinitely adolescent lives, then weed will be legalized or some stupid shit.

  8. Anyone got any ideas?

Trying to build some sort of set up allowing me to use my TD-3 to trigger samples and suchlike in addtion to an acoustic drum kit, without having to buy an expensive sample pad. Plus i think this way will give me a few more parameters to play with. Somehow.

Perferably one that incorparates a PCMCIA card and a breakout box, had latency issues when using USB interfaces.

I'm not lazy, i have looked a little, just hoped there would be someone with a bit more experience in this field.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

  9. Just curious about how they go about trade ins. I have a few games that I'm very bored of and not really looking for money.

    I have

    Oblivion: Elder Scrolls

    Ufc undisputed 2009

    Saints Row 2

    All in good condition.

would anyone know what kind of swap I could get for these games?

used to work there a few months back

    Oblivion: around 6-8 trade

UFC: probably under a tenner now

SR2: no more than a fiver im guessing

  10. i just watched "paranormal activity", in my bed, in the dark

that film would have benefitted from either a script or the casting of actors who can improvise convincingly

Agreed, the holes in the acting bugged me, though it was quite clever. Felt on edge alot of the time and really strange afterwards, maybe cause of the ending having no credits, maybe cause i was r8 hungover.

  11. Due to our semi established covers/wedding/function band loosing our keyboardist to Glasgow, we are looking for someone to play wih us; idealistically someone who can sing aswell, but its no real issue.

It's mainly pop/pub circit covers at the moment, when we become a little more established it'll cater towards the wedding/function aspect of the band.

    PM me if interested.
