I think they are just playing Montrose to get there last decent meal from Maxis mum.

  2. This place is just a pub' date=' not a venue so the people who are there are local drinkers and not music fans. The Retreat's clientele are somewhat sensitive to loud music and when TWF! played there recently with Allergo we were threatened with violence if we continued our set.

The folk are all mouth but but it makes for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. We're lucky in that our frontman is 6'5" and heavily tattooed so, even though he's a big girl, no one was gonna try anything. I could see a similar situation cropping up and getting out of hand though.

If you want to play in Perth, stick to somewhere that specifically caters for bands like Angry Mics (formerly Barcode) as people need to pay in to gain access to the venue.[/quote']

Yeah I heard this happened not to you guys but james(MAFAFI fame)

We are just putting a gig on cos our singers brother works there and asked us to play...still looking forward to it though.

  3. Looks like somebody had a rant in the influences too.

"The sickest, illest emoscreamo bands in the world, anyone from Merthyr with a fringe, cockfilms, Tony Heart, Sandy Tocksfigg, nautical star tatoos, scene queen barbies with over ten trillion friends, scene queen dandies with over nine willion friends, anyone with so much shit on their page that it takes 10 minutes to load on the fastest connection and then crashes your browser, anyone who likes every band in the world like us and look like us but dont like us, frank castle, wrs at rms with pms, Charlie VDW, abbreevs, wtf, omg, abby's haircut, John Singleton and his one idea, Tim Burtons Menswear and his one idea, Johnny Utah, Don Swayze, a2m, stripper heels in private, thrashin', bands with acrobats, acrobats with bands, bats with acrobands, acros with batbands, mdf and the obsession with life labels, Pete Doherty single handedly destroying Dior Homme, Kate Moss' love of cock, Weird Science, Lost Boys, Automan, Scott Dahl, Monster Squad, anything released on a split 7inch, girls who claim to be your friend but then talk shit about you, boys who do the same, Vince Vaughn and his mastery of comedy, the word comedy, the rapper 'Sean Smith' and his stupid band, sluts, Stuart Price and anything he puts his hand to, Angela, underground jamaican dancehall, Megadeth."

Its really alot of moaning...you dont have to read it.

  4. Flaming Lips also released "Zaireeka" which had 4 CDs that were required to be played simultaneously.

Funnily enough' date=' I've never got hold of four decent stereos in my living room to try this out with my copy of teh CD. Downloading premixed MP3s was so much easier...[/quote']

I think thats what I was meaning...not beck.

Was the aim not bring people together or something like that? So you and your mates would all get a different cd.

Alot of hassle just to listen to an album....and pressing play at the wrong time must have been common,I would have done that because I am that kind of person.
