  1. Apart from having their own video on SCUZZ and whatever, they dont seem to have much else. A poor website, and a bad reputation created for when the lead singer swung from the ceiling and literally brought the house down. Oh shit, they're also signed to Tower Records. And we're supporting them at Kef. Im interested in their contacts, punk music doesnt do much for me personally - especially the outrageous kind. But, could be a good night? Anythings possible.
  2. I can take it. I know im not as graceful as I'd like to be, but im working on it. I just look terrible next to Liam. lol Im taking this as "tongue-in-cheek" just so you know that I was born with a sense of humour. At the end of the day I just concentrate on the vocals and dont spend enough time sending the right signals to the rest of my body. Its a learning curve. Anyone know a dance teacher or yoga, Liam's eager for a bit of yoga! lol Alex
  3. Anway, I never once said that this forum was 'the scene.' I just dont appreciate being put down by people who have such little consideration for others in regards to music. I also dont appreciate being told to "run tae fuck." When all we asked for was if anyone had any gig dates free. Its pathetic. I doubt that this site was created in the vision that it was going to be used by people as a medium to brush their own egos. New bands who try and gather what little gigs there are have usually got to kiss the ass off every 'known band there is in 'the scene' before they are accepted. What the fuck is up with that!? Why should this have to happen?
  4. who can honestly say that ,as a band or individual, try and work with others to try and improve relationships and contacts with promoters/venue owners and other bands in general? I cant help but point out that alot of people on this site spend their time slating others without any amount of constructive critcism. Its sad that there are so many people out there that go out of their way to place a blunt, useless and totally unproductive comment on others who neither provoked it or deserved it. So who could say that they are truly in it for the music and the sheer enjoyment of effectively progressing both yourself and others?? Just thought that this would shed some light on issues that are present in this site day to day. I dont want to start a revolution or anything, I just want people to realise that this place would be absoloutely incredible if everyone would just cut the bullshit! Any thoughts? Alex
  5. What do you guys do before you begin playing at a gig after a soundcheck or whatever? Do you stay together and talk about what you're going to do? About what you want to achieve in your performance that night? I was just wondering what kind of bonds others have with their bands in this area. Alex
  6. As far as we has seen or experienced, the Moorings has the most looked after, efficient set up in Aberdeen. No where else locally respects their venue and the people in it as much as Flash and his team do. Seriously, even the set-up at Fury's in Glasgow (which is supposed to be one of the greatest live sound venues in the country) stands in the shadow of them. The whole deal with cutting out soundchecks seems fair on most levels and we agree with what your doing in the majority. IDENTITY like to soundcheck like any other band, but its not always necessary. Anyhoo if bands are putting in real effort they'd have their own sound sorted out before the gig and be organised without the need of a thorough soundcheck. Am I wrong? We trust the staff to do their job and they do it well all the time! I've no problem with leaving it all in their hands. They're capable. See you on the 5th Flash Alex
