  1. I remember when I was in there playing with my band a few weeks back.

One of the bands' date=' I think it was Junkdust, had a group of underagers with them, and that Jim dude had no problem with them being there, he went over just to check on them a few times, but he seemed very reasonable as they were well behaved.

Maybe you were doing something wrong which he didn't like that night, behaviour, maybe? I don't know, I'm just speculating.[/quote']

It was indeed Junk Dust, we had a few underagers with us, but i think they only had one drink each, The guy in the suit asked me if i would be buying anymore drinks for them and i said no, he knew what was going on i knew what was going on, but we left it at one drink for each underager, I only bought them one drink, and i don't think any of my other mates did, but i spent i lot of the night with my band so i wasn't really aware of what was going on, but he didn't seem to mind, i think it was cause we were out of the way and not causing any trouble. But anyway respect to the man for not throwing my mates out, they would of been gutted not to see us play, ( sly little promotion coming up here )

And yes i know i shouldn't of been buying drink for underagers, but it happens everyday, people did it for me all the time, saying that i haven't bought alcohol for anyone under the age of 18 since that night.

    Cheers Steve

  2. It just depends on the person i think, some people can get used to other cars more quickly than others, even thought i haven't been driving for long i have had to get used to a few different cars. I started off driving a Small Transit van, and also driven a pug 206 and megane, and now driving an L200, its good experience if you can drive a few different cars before you pass your test, just incase you have to change cars at short notice before your test as i did. i think alot of people are worried that they cant drive other cars e.g. learnt in a corsa i wont be able to drive any other type of car, you know that frame of mind, not saying it applies to everyone though, alot of people complain about the clutch, my advice is when you get in a new car just sit in it with the engine running in first gear with the handbrake on (obviously) and just lift the clutch up and down until you get a feel for the height of the bit point on the car.

As for instructors using Dual controls, there is nothing you can do to stop them doing that, just hope your instructor only uses them when they need, or as a last resort, during the six months of my learning to drive my instructor only used the dual controls twice, thought that was quite good in my opinion.

  3. Has the guy given any constructive* reason to why he thinks your band is shit? If he hasn't the he's probably just a tosser and in which case you shouldn't take it to heart.

Also' date=' please note that MSN has a luxury feature known as, "block", should problems persist then I advise that you indulge yourself in this feature.

    * By this I mean your bands ability to perform and play and so forth.[/quote']

Nope did not give any constructive reason why he thinks we are shit, althought i have never had anyone come upto me after a gig and say we are shit, but by all means if you see us play feel free to come up and have you say and give us some constructive reasons why don't like us.

I have since change email address not only was there this perosn on there but alot of people who used to know, but have unfortunatly "changed" for the worst, so i have narrowed down my list contacts now.

  4. I don't mind constructive Critasism, that can help towards being a better band, but just slagging of your band with no reasoning behind it what so ever seems wrong to me.

I will be the first one to admit the band i am in is not the as good as it could be at the moment be we are working on that, but then what band can ever say the are 100% with everything they do.

  5. Maybe I should report the whole story i couldn't be bothered before, but i suppose i should really.

It started when i met someone who is going out with with someone i know, who is also in a band, and i told him that i didn't really like the kind of music his band played but thats just what i think, and he said i don't really like the kind of music i played, thats fair enough, end of it you would think.

then tonight i was talking to him on MSN and he starts hurling abuse at me about my band and how shite he thinks we are, and it all got a bit nasty in the end.

I just didn't like the fact he was taking the piss out of us, and his band have only been together for 3 months, and never played a gig in aberdeen. and we have been playing gigs in aberdeen for a year, granted not big gigs, but people are noticing us, surly if my band was as bad as he says it is, we wouldn't be getting gigs. i just thought he was being stupid and contradicting himself considering his band has never played aberdeen.

  6. Just wondering what you all thought about people who admit they don't like a certain band or a certain type of music, but refuse to keep their negative opinions to themselves.

I have no problem with people coming upto me after playing a gig, and saying that wasn't to my taste, but well done anyway, that sort fo thing, but why do some people insist on saying to you over and over again, your band is shit, your band is shit, your band is shit over and over agian you get the message.

This makes me very angry, especially when another person from another band calls you shit over and over again, you would think that they would have some respect for you seeing as they should know how difficult it is to keep on going in a band.

    Any thoughts People?

P.S. sorry for the spelling mistake in the title.

  7. Let me put your mind at rest, it is not all that bad failing first time round, i did and i am glad i did to some degree cause i knew what to expect the second time round, alot of people fail first time. I found that since i really wanted to pass my test first time cause i live in the middle of nowhere aswell, that it made me appreciate having my full license now, i am one of the most careful young drivers out their i have been, that was until some arse decided to ram his car into the back of mine while it was parked up and not leave a note or anything, but thats a whole other story.

The point is seing as i passed second time, and now realise how difficult it was for me to pass, i don't find myself speeding, or driving stupidly, as some fo my friends have found to their cost its a whole load easier to lose you license than it is to get in the first place.

hope that makes you feel a bit better, and remember when you do pass, don't do anything to put your license at risk, thats your freedom, that little pink card.

    Steve

  8. It could be worth it, i will give it a try all thought i don't think anything will turn up, all my mates are on the look out so i should catch who ever did it its only a matter of time, but the thing i am really pissed off about is that my insurance is going up because the arse that did it didn't have the balls to hang around to own up.

  9. There was a brown coloured paint like substance on the rear, but the police didn't know if it was paint of rust unfortunatly due to the weather it has started to rust over now, i think the person/s responsible for it have something to hide, like they were drunk or unisured or their car was not fit for the road, cause there no bit parts of either vehicle on the tarmac it was cleaned up, only tiny tiny bits were still there when i returned.

The police have been round the garages in alford already nothing, the thing is it would of had to been a rather tall vehicle like another pick up truck or a van to do damage to my car judging by the height the damage started at.
