  1. I will be approaching a couple of Aberdeen promoters about bringing Edguy here.
  2. I have been looking into getting Edguy to come to Aberdeen next time rather than Glasgow next time they play the Uk. I run the Uk Branch Of The Savage Union Fanclub and in contact with the founder of the World Fanclub. Problem is i need a promoter to come forward and take it on,then i can pass it onto Edguy.I think they would be a great live band to come here and bring something different to the local scene. Edguy has headlined some of the biggest festivals in Europe along with Tobias's solo project Avantasia. Edguy's lyrics are often metaphorical, alluding to metaphysical or social themes: conformity ("The Headless Game", "Mysteria", "King of Fools"), dictation by the church ("The Kingdom", "The Pride of Creation", "Theater of Salvation"), and dangers of modern civilization ("Navigator", "The Devil and the Savant"). To express such themes, Edguy sometimes use esoteric and hermetic expressions. Yet some of their songs are light-hearted or comedic ("Das Reh", "Save Us Now", "Lavatory Love Machine", "Life and Times of a Bonus Track", "Trinidad"). Edguy does not claim to represent any ideology; Tobias Sammet claimed "[the band is] not political and we are not religious; at least there is no key message in our songs telling you what to think in terms of anything". Edguy also employs lengthy and epic sections in almost every album. Hellfire Club revealed Edguy's interest in experimenting within music by integrating an orchestra into the production. The album featured a variation on Edguy's style, with a less grandiose, more traditional heavy metal approach being embraced. The band's album, Rocket Ride, features even less symphonic and power metal elements, and is arguably more oriented towards hard rock. Their latest album, Tinnitus Sanctus, contains even more hard rock oriented songs, as the obvious lack of double bass drumming is evident, in contrast Edguy's older albums such as Vain Glory Opera.
  3. Ok i knew this was going to come up,.ok im most cases, they are trying to be real vikings, doing certain rituals and no i do not go for the nudity but the metal.I will be doing a report, takeing photos at the gig<tasteful ones> for the local scene and Metalfaith. Will remind people, that True Scotsman dont wear anything under the kilt and two your maturity does not surprise me.
  4. Its mainly Viking Black metal with some power.
  5. I'm honestly not try to put down the forum. This band has played festivals such as Download,Wacken and are no small band.We should be trying support all forms of music here, not just local bands. I'm the first person to admit that Aberdeen Heavy Metal scene has been dead for awhile. What is frustrateing is there nothing anywhere about this gig, inside aberdeen, includeing Aberdeen Heavy Metal myspace. As for it being in March, elsewhere in the UK,it will be selling tickets out.
  6. European Famous Battle Metal Turisas will be playing the Moshulu on the 3rd of March.I was really surprised and dismayed to find nothing about it on this forum, nothing on the calander or anyone discussing the event. Its not everyday Aberdeen gets a band like Turisas, come this far north to play. This band will blow away any memory of Dragonforce 2years ago and is amazing live.In my book, they are better than Korpiklanni or Fintroll<guys will kill me for saying this>.My advice dont miss out on this gig and will be talked about how good it was for ages.
  7. European Famous Battle Metal Group Turisas will be playing Moshulu 3rd of March, they played the download festival last year and will be playing Aberdeen. It s rare that a famous live band comes this far north. They play mainly Black Viking Metal, but also have some power tracks. This band is great live and must see!.They really put on a show.
  8. And it maked me wonder about the average age of the people on this forum. How about i come around to your house and put on the front of it here lies a complete Wanker!.
  9. For goodness sake this is not about music but about vandalism and dont even try and tell me its not just powermetal!.
  10. Hmmmmm why does this not surpise me would be a completely different story if it happened to you!.The usual anti power metal heads got to have there say and say how perfect there music is.
  11. Hail Everyone i really dont want to spoil what was a good night and to say i was proud to be part of the Aberdeen Metal crowd on Monday Night. On the night i asked Dragonforce to sign my flag,so i got it back and did not look at it till i got back.Yep the bands signed it but left some really evil comment about my hammers looking like underwear and under the bands names Rhapsody are Gay and Edguy are so Gay.It had taken me six years to get autographs from Hammerfall,Rhapsody and i was so proud when i got them.To have these drunken fools descrate my flag like this, there is no fucking excuse what age are you 10!.Even if this is meant as joke i mean fuck this im so annoyed!.I have heard Dragonforce fancy themsleves and have egos what even Joey would have problems matching.Well this just proves that you will never be in the league of bands like Manowar,Rhapsody ,Hammerfall Or Edguy.
  12. I recommend anyone to be there because a band like Dragonforce will only come rarely.Even if you dont like Powermetal come anyway who knows you might even like it.I have my ticket and i will be wearing my dragonforce tshirt .
  13. When i spoke to Luca Trilli in july at Masters Of Rock,Czech Republic in july there was no mention of them supporting helloween next year(i really hope im wrong) and also they are doing their own tour at the sametime.I did ask Luca if he would like to play Scotland and he told me he would love to play if Rhapsody could get the right promotor. As for Joey being a dick hmmmmmmmm he defin unconvential outspoken and a ego manic(and thats comeing from an 18year long Manowar Fan) he is doing a good job.If it was not for bands like Manowar Virgin Steele and Helloween there might not of been powermetal and Rhapsody.Unfor attitude like that keeps bands away .
  14. Finally a power band comes to Aberdeen they play Moshulu Mon 19th Sept.I recommend even you dont like Powermetal you goto this gig they do a great show i saw them at Bloodstock03 and did a damn good job.If you dont beleive me goto http://www.dragonforce.com/ or speak to Moshulu they have toured with Wasp and have been touring with Iron Maiden.
  15. What in hell are some of the people smoking on this forum and please give me some.Calling powermetal slow get a life and you must be listening to Nightwish again.Try stormwarrior lindisfarne for one bloody heavier than most of your so called metal. And would you call Children Of Boddem and Demoniac slow i wonder what are black powermetal. What i love about powermetal it has taste for any metal lover.
  16. For poeple who like to get more contact with the powermetal scene here in the UK and find more people like you. There is forums at either www.bloodstock.uk.com or http://www.power-metal.co.uk. or you contact me on my msn and i can point you in the right direction.Great gig comeing up in Bradford feb19th Bands who will be on is most talked about up and comeing power and true metal bands in the country,Conquest Of Steel and Deciever,Sons Of Slaughter will also be on as well who sound a bit like Morbid Angel.3 pound at the door hopefully a lot of bloodstock crowd will be there dont miss it if you can afford the travel.
  17. As powermetal being cheesy it has different styles of metal from bands like Nightwish all the way upto Children Of Boddom.Unlike a load of boreing genes of music who go the same beat of music yawn zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.Another thing about powerbands they get their music through inspiration not just picking up a newpaper or watching the news like bands like Megadeth Or Metallica.Powerbands help you forget how crap this world really is and helps you forget you broke your arse all day at work or your parents are pissing you off.Rhapsody for an example their music is all about a fantasy land they wrote about.
  18. Been in what is now Powermetal for a longtime.Bands like Manowar Magnum Virgin Steele Stratovaruis Gamma Ray And Helloween.I think people forget these bands created it long before bands like Nightwish and Hammerfall ever came along.
  19. I'm already planning Operation Bring Powermetal To Aberdeen new year if you wanna help get in touch on my msn.
  20. My pride gets in my way sometime and i probably did not help get into a slagging match with people. As for Gabriel he is in one the bands who would like to come to Aberdeen and play next year.He got a wee bit frustrated that he thought he saw on the forum was hardly any interest and negative replys. All i can say to people is what i have heard the source is completely relaible and the planning of Bloodstock Roadshow for Aberdeen And Glasgow April next year is only in the first stage.I was one of the first person in Scotland to hear about it and i was excited not just for me but for Aberdeen and i wanted to break the good news to you.All i can say to people is please be patient and give it a chance before passing judgement.Vince has a load of experience running Bloodstock and he will promote it properly when he offically announces it on his site and as soon as that happens i will link it to you. Stormhart
  21. You want the truth just sick of people's atitude for one people who dont even listen to a band before slagging them.If i could delete this i would and the bloodstock topic as far as im concerned its closed.Have your closed circle maybe one day aberdeen will join the real world.
  22. Its finshed as far im concerned and i wont be the one who will be missing out in the end.Its a shame for local bands because in the end if Vince does not come they will miss out in getting noticed. And before you say im full of bs find out a few things first and you might learn not to jump the gun and will learn Vince promotor of Bloodstock.Supports smaller bands gets them to play at bloodstock and gets them noticed. He has lately taken out a live dvd out just for up and comeing bands at bloodstock.I hear a load of talking from people but im backing myself up with fact about Bloodstock. P.s. Yes i know there is only a few metal bands here.
  23. Im starting wonder what people are thinking of me here. For whatever you think of me i do want the best for Aberdeen and i cant stand some of the bands. But Vince wil have the final say on this not me.
  24. If you take a look at my bloodstock topic you will find Seasons End was mentioned. And i was recommending that they where one of the bands comeing up.Personally this is Vinces not mine.I have friends who has contacts with the band and i was hopeing to bring them up in the summer.
  25. Looks interesting had a listen to a couple of cult of luna tracks still not sure its my cup of tea but im willing to give it a try:). Stormhart
