nothing to do with this conversation, but trying to be neat and tidy....(don't all thank me at once, mods)
Does anyone have contact and address details for the Tunnels?
ta.
-
Yeah, when he played Call Me A Dog acoustic I discharged a little wee.
-
you don't know it's his kid though
I never said it was.
That was just the way I picked it up.
Or the way they want you to pick it up.
-
Dunno how or where it gets distributed like.....
Hold on just read that 1.6 Million is going to The Prince's Trust after they had to shelve their usual concert plans.
-
But that isn't the point of these concerts' date=' they're not asking for money, the concerts are even going to be free. The point is to bring attention to a cause and to help people attempt to influence world leaders ahead of them meeting each other.[/quote']
Yeah, but they ARE asking for money in a very clever way by getting folk to text in to win tickets for each event. What is it 1.50 a pop? times how many millions worldwide wanting tickets. Equals lots of cash.
Very clever. Best of both worlds.
-
duh...just give it away for the people who haven't seen it yet.
It has been broadcast worldwide. It's not like I'm giving away national secrets. Maybe you shouldn't have told everyone about the black people as well, by that reckoning?
Seeing as everyone who has contributed to this thread since last night has actually seen it, what difference does it make?
Am I allowed to comment on the news today, or will that spoil it for the people who are at work?
-
oh GOOD. if not' date=' that would have been the worst ending EVER
i'm still confused about the whole paul and mike's sister thing... but i guess we'll find out next series?[/quote']
POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT DON'T LOOK DOWN
Who's Mikes sister? eh.
I may have this all wrong, but was Mike not Deirdra's boyfriend and was going after Paul who he thought killed her, in some sort of revenge mission.
Paul revealed that Zack was Deirdra's son. Mike therefore thinks Zack is his son. Zack is about to kill his real father. The end.
Or am I waaay offline?

nothing wrong with being gay at all but agreeing with the Jester is fucking shameful!
....stuck record ''Jo should be playing - click - Jo should be playing - click - etc''
get over it ....pleeeease!
erm I'm nae gay
I only agree with Jester on the whole lack of professionalism issue of the event. I couldn't care less who or what Jo is or does.
I'm over it.
Sheesh.

I agree with Stuart
Cheers
Mark
Wow, because of this comment I got a neg scene point for being "his gay lover then?"
I agree with someone's point.
I am gay. (apparently)
Wonderful.
Sums up the mentality.

Can I ask what the definition of "showcase" is, in this context?
Just seems a bit blurry to me.
-
I feel that as one of the most sucessfull Aberdeen artists who has played a variety of gigs outside Aberdeen this year' date=' I'd hazard a guess more than any other local band, then I would say she meets the criteria for GoNorth which would be to showcase the talent from Aberdeen and the people who have the ability to go further and impress the record buying public. It is a showcase, so it would make senswe, at least, to me, to showcase those people who have got out there and represented Aberdeen outwith the city. That's my opinion, but feel free to disagree as I know you will.

I was going to say Liars' date=' but I'll go for something no-one's yet mentioned: Broadcast supported by The Projects. An amazing journey into a retro-futurist idea of space
Is no-one going to mention Willard Grant Conspiracy?
(see how I cunningly get round offramps rules by mentioning 3 gigs)[/quote']
hmmm
bugger
-
Fuck! I've got it!!!
Mogwai' date=' in 1998, without a doubt!
Or was the Beta Band better (try saying that quickly!).
Nah, Mogwai.
Definately.
100% positive.[/quote']
Yay
-
I know' date=' I know..... I'm just banging my head off the desk in frustration here trying to think of all I've been to & what were the best.
Those 3 aren't definate choices - just thinking out loud really.[/quote']
Nothing in this game for three in a bed.
I'm going to have to hurry you.
-
i'm struggling here - about 12 years worth of LT gigs to think of & I can't remeber them all.
GYBE / Sigur Ros....
Labradford (support the High Llamas round about 1996).....
New Kingdom (supporting Senser in 1994)......
f*ck' date=' there's been loads & I've went totally blank about what I've been to![/quote']
Another rule breaker. I'm gonna have to get brutal on the points bizniz.

heh heh. So that's why I missed it!
I was watching some skanky aberdonian birds up on stage with Flavor Flav.
Flashback.
-
buzzcocks in april 2003 proving that old men can rock with the enthusiasm of teenagers
man, that's the best one I've missed so far. gutted.
-
tut tut, did you not read the rules................?
I'll give you one more chance.
I'm a nice guy
-
Ok, so I was at Teenage Fanclub last night, and was thinking about other ace gigs I've seen there.
Number One Ever = Spiritualized in January last year.
I think my ears are still hurting from that one.
Over to you lot. One choice only. Multiple entries may result in neg scene points. You been warned.
-
I'm goin. Listening to Man Made right now. Dreamy..........
-
But I do think it's on par with the original!
I just wish people stopped comparing them to the originals.
heh heh
how to contradict yourself in two short sentences.

Yup. It. Was. Good.

Got a load of early Faith No More picture discs, a signed "King for a day...." poster and signed ticket.
The first Pearl Jam vinyl only fan club single from 1991, the rare Benaroya vinyl box set and a signed Eddie Vedder 7" of Long Road.
Signed Cut Chemist and Chali2na J5 ticket is pretty cool too.

This is probably the worst movie ever made. The opening scenes weren't too bad' date=' but it quickly descended into the most childish, cliche driven nonsense I've ever seen. Yeah, there are lots of loud noises and explosions which I'm sure excite the younger viewer, but after 50 minutes I walked out of the cinema, feeling like I'd just been ripped off for the fee to watch an elaborate episode of startrek. This ruined my childhood memories of the original movies, and well, maybe that is what to expect, since this is a movie for kids. The scripting and acting was on a par with the average baywatch episode. Utter drivel.[/quote']
What did you expect? Schindler's List?
Seriously?
You whine about it being marketed to kids and that adults shouldn't be going, then complain about the standards of acting. WTF.
Other city message boards - do they exist as such?!
