actually after some reading it appears cod2 wont run unless you have a FULLY dx9.0c compatable graphics card.

cant get into it at all? can you post the specific error/conditions you get plus your video card spec please

from the main menu go to options, graphics options, in there somewhere theres an option that says "preferred graphics renderer" or something similar, the default is "auto", click it to cycle to dx7

if oyur card isnt fully dx9 compatable i would recommend this setting, i think it averages an extra 20 - 30 fps but obviously the game doesnt look half as nice
