  1. so, im staying in aberdeen now for uni at the RGU, sadly i only have sticks with me, no other drumming gear, but i have 6 years experience. Any bands out there who think they could make it work in practise rooms, and who obviously need a drummer, give me a shout.. musical preference doesnt really matter, i play most styles, im 18 :p

  2. atm my pedal does none of the work for me regardless of how i set it up using different tensions, total bottom of the range mapex thing, complete crap, its like running a race rather than playing drums. I do find however that beater closer to the drum does increase speed, obviously reducing the overall sound tho... good mic'in could fix the sound tho.

Been playing 6 years, this is my second kit, first was just a crappy starter. Its a yamaha rock tour custom (as used by the old guns and roses drummer) in black sparkle. I use sabian pro sonix and aax metal cymbals, mapex twin bass. I also have a Terry Bozio signature sabian china, ooo errr. Ahead "spud" from mudvayne sticks.

  4. Well' date=' the drummer in my band doesn't have a kit with him, so we have to rent from captain tom's, which is a bit of a headache...[/quote']

you rent? cool, never heard of doing that before. Practises or just gigs? whats the cost ya?

  5. Id say most new starter kits arent worth the money. That ludwig looks like it'll come with everything u need, but its unlikely the cymbal and hats will last five minutes if your any good at all, so id put money aside for a beginers cymbal pack.

Id always recommend ebay for a kit, i picked up a 6 piece yamaha RTC for 500 quid. tons of freebie stands and parts. Better to buy a second hand semi-pro!
