  1. Cheers for the advice' date=' anyone else? I did see a Yamaha Rydeen 22 Rock kit for 450 with some Zildjian Planet Z cymbols for 450. Not sure how that fairs with their budget but what do people think of Yamaha? I mean they are well renound for their cheaper guitars being much better than the price tag suggests.[/quote']

I got a yamaha rock tour custom (see avatar), 1980's like, but wouldnt trade it for anything, certainly not a pearl kit.

note: i only paid 500 for it.

  2. Cymbals - Paiste are best at doing budget cymbals that last a while' date=' though for sound quality I'd much rather invest in Meinl or Sabian (I currently have the Pro Sonix range 8" splash, 14" hats, 16" chinese, 16" and 18" crash and 22" ride, though that'll cost about 3-400 new) as they have far superior pitch, tone, and sharpness.[/quote']

ive cracked 2 pro sonix 16"ers, it makes me sad :moody: But yea, the pro sonix cymbal starter pack, combined with the FX pack is a good set for anyone, 300 quid ish prolly. I actually took my 16" AAX metal crash back, coz i prefered the pro sonix sound

  3. dont buy a starter pack, go on ebay and get a second hand semi-pro kit. Something like a yamaha stage custom or something. ull find they normally throw in a few cymbals, sabian pro's or something. get stands, they cost a lot new. 2 crashes a ride and hats is all u want to start off with.

  4. Monday - MUD Club: Rock' date=' Indie, smattering of heavier rock, hip hop, electronica

Wednesday - Flying Circus: Cheesy tracks and lunacy. Grown men dressed as old women or lumberjacks or whatever shouting about Slipknot and frozen t-shirts.

Friday - Bondage: Rock, Indie, Metal, smattering of hip hop, electronica

Saturday - Air Guitar: Classic rock galore!

Friday and Saturday have the back room open as well so there's twice the choice of bars and music![/quote']

so which is the best....

  5. already PM'd u... ill do it... heres a little info...

18 years old, just moved to aberdeen for uni, doing design

been playing drums for 6 years, (basically all through high school). Played all sorts of music from the distillers to grease (i actually drummed the whole musical fairly recently haha  ). Favourite bands include funeral, killers, billy talent, no doubt etc. Also like bands like slayer, and all the usual classics. I do own my own kit, but its unlikely it'll make an appearance obviously :moody: .

    Get back to me :gringo:

  6. eh?! it's a rehearsal room' date=' you rehearse in it, it is there purely for the purpose of rehearsing. it is the most ideal thing ever.[/quote']
