tis a shame indeed - they were mighty!!
(and a big influence on WBL originally were they not? could be wrong there)
Listen to the drums on any WBL song and you'll hear the influence immediately.
The remastered version of Hi-Point has the same track listing as the original but different artwork. Haven't heard so I don't know if the sound quality is any better but the original was only really meant as a taster for arc'tan'gent when it was released.
I hear there's a DVD out soon...

Bonza. I'll see you then...

??? Is Edinburgh Monday or Tuesday? James' post says Monday...
-
I've listened to it a couple of times but so far I don't reckon it's anywhere near as good as 'As The Palaces Burn'.
Could be a grower...

I have a sneaking suspicion it may be Amy Winehouse. I hope it's Snow Patrol though...
-
Jim here. If want the head, you're more than welcome to it but you'll need some way of getting from Edinburgh (or is that the problem?) I'll call you soon.
-
Exile. There's the lock up but I hear you need to be pretty cool to get in there.

My stage bass is an Ibanez EDB600
(Mine's kind of a gold colour)
It's quite big and heavy but there's two massive pickups in it so it sounds like an absolute beast. It's louder than hell and twice as heavy.
I also have a Tanglewood Rebel 4K as my back up which tends to buzz a bit to be honest but I like it cos it's really light and you can swing it about till you're heart's content.
The Ibanez brings the ruckus quite convincingly though and I think you can get em for under 400...

Saw em a while back supporting Death Cab For Cutie in Edinburgh. They were quite entertaining. The drummer's sparkly jacket was indeed something to behold...

May have been posted before but I didn't see anything.
Just spyed a small note about this in last month's Metal Hammer. Apparently Helmet have reformed and are touring the US soon. There'll be new album, 'Size Matters', in the Autumn produced by Charlie Clouser of NIN, which means it'll be fucking ace.
It's not the original line up - playing drums is Chris Traynor from White Zombie and bass duties will be handled by Frank Bello, formerly of Anthrax (and once rumoured to be filling Jason Newsted's shoes in Metallica).
Rock.

Do you remember the Space Age Playboys? They were the singer's (forget his name - Cory something?) band after Warrior Soul split up. They were laughably bad...
-
It's great. The new Hives album rocks...
-
Straight Edge Pope is my favourite...
-
I think one of them is 'Sye'.
-
That's great news!

Ok so I bought it yesterday and, after listening to a few times, I reckon it's one of the best albums I've heard this year. Still not 100% sure about some of the melodic parts but it generally shits on everything else that's come out recently...
-
Totally. Although Calculating Infinity is a fucking ace album, evolution is vital. I shall go forth and purchase it tomorrow.
-
I've not bought it yet but the one song I've heard is great. They were fantastic on the last tour and the new material they played was mighty impressive. Lots of people seem to be dissing it though...
Is it technically out in the UK yet? There are no decent record shops in Edinburgh...

I remember seeing a couple of the X-Certs' first gigs. They Dammit by Blink 182. I didn't mind cos the rest of their set was so good. They also, on one occasion, did a 30 second hardcore song which I've not seen em play since. I mind about that. Well Murray, what's your excuse??
NB, there was apoint to this post originally, though I kinda lost sight of it. I'm sure you'll be able to find it in there somewhere...

I always enjoy 'Wall Of Skin' by Deadloss. Also, 'Red Beret' by Contra and Subsistence's 'Pumpkin Heads on Pogo Sticks'.

I've spoken to loads of people who tell me it's rubbish. I don't wanna believe it!
I love the new DEP, let's hope it's just as good...
