  1. I used to let things bother me' date=' but I got fed up with my Atlas complex. As I get older, I'm thinking more and more that the "end of the world" would be no bad thing. Look at the state of it, it's beyond fucked and whether it's worth saving is debatable.

So, don't worry about shit you have no control over, concentrate on what you CAN do. Be a good friend to people you care about, be there for them when they need someone, don't fuck people over, and always be honest. As long as I can look myself in the mirror every day and be comfortable with what I see, dandy.[/quote']

    Word. :gringo:

  2. This place is just a pub, not a venue so the people who are there are local drinkers and not music fans. The Retreat's clientele are somewhat sensitive to loud music and when TWF! played there recently with Allergo we were threatened with violence if we continued our set.

The folk are all mouth but but it makes for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. We're lucky in that our frontman is 6'5" and heavily tattooed so, even though he's a big girl, no one was gonna try anything. I could see a similar situation cropping up and getting out of hand though.

If you want to play in Perth, stick to somewhere that specifically caters for bands like Angry Mics (formerly Barcode) as people need to pay in to gain access to the venue.

  3. This happened to my Gibson Voodoo Les Paul recently - lent it up against something just before we were about to play a set and it fell over. Big crack right where the head meets the neck.

I took it to the dude who works in Guitar Guitar in Edinburgh and now it's as good as new, fucking amazing job. Hope there's someone in Aberdeen of equal competence.

  4. The music seems well-played and well rehearsed but the vocalist lets the band down for me. Both lyrically ("I don't know anything about you/You don't know anything about me") and musically as he appears to be singing in a different key to the rest of the band in some sections. Also, I hate the general emo-ness of this style of music.

Keep at it though, more gigs and more songwriting will steer you in the right direction. Best of luck.
