  1. Are you at Aberdeen Uni? According to their website, they've got a health centre with doctors, nurses and a dentist. That might be an option? Student Health Service number 01224 272410. I don't know if RGU has the same service.

  2. You're pretty much stuffed. Getting an NHS dentist is impossible, I've got to haul my ass to Westhill to get a dentist. The best thing to do is phone the hosital on 681818, asking for family health. They've got a list of dentists that are taking on folk (if there is anybody). They can also help you out with emergency denistry, if you are willing to pay for it.

  3. I'm surprised they've actually got a 'cover up' policy in Liquid. The only time I've been in there the women were semi-naked. Orange fake tans on show and skirts so short you could tell what they'd eaten for breakfast (as my mum would say). I'm still boycotting the Priory for not being allowed in with trainers one Saturday night (for a works do, I'd like to add). Really, so if was wearing a pair of cheap kitten-heeled silver sandals from Shoe Express I could get in?!?!

  4. Ciao Napoli is a really good Italian, though might be a bit expensive for what you're looking for. Good for a treat though. I like the Blue Moon for Indian and Bistro Verde for fish, they've got a really cheap 2 course lunch menu. The Square is also nice. I've never been a lover of Cafe 52... I've got to get my hands on this years spree book, so many freebie resturants !

  5. My favourite driving song just now is Pendulum - The Terminal. Suppose it's a bit more 'car crash' than driving, though. According to Top Gear, we should all be listening to Queen - Don't Stop Me Now, but I can't fit into the spandex body suits. . .

  6. If it's a sell out gig you can try to return them to the promoter and you might get a refund, often there's a standby list of other punters. If it's not a sell out you're stuffed, but you shouldn't have expected to make a tidy profit in the first place. Folk who buy tickets without the intention of going is one of my pet hates.

Or you could try http://www.concertlivewire.com, where you can buy/swap concert tickets.

  7. I had a quick look on eBay, and if you're willing to be slightly skinned you can get 'em for 68.99 each (6558412431). I know it's more than double the face value, but some folk are charging 100+ a ticket...... The bastards who buy these tickets with no intentions of going to the gig makes me mad !!!!

  8. I've been buying contacts from http://www.visiondirect.co.uk for ages. You order them one day and get them the next. This is the cheapest site I've found, depending on your type of lens.

If you feel safer using an optician (especially for your first three months) you should maybe try ASDA. Their contacts the cheapest on the highstreet and once you feel happier, you can buy them online from http://www.asda-contactlenses.co.uk

The only problem I have with wearing contacts is trying to get them out at silly a.m. while drunk. . . .

  9. Shakin Stevens - Green Door . . .

    Obviously not being a woman of the *cough* 80s , I obviously couldn't recommend . . .

Billie Jean (although Mr Jackson might be out of favour),

    The Lovecats, The Cure

    Sweet Dreams, Eurythmics or

Two Tribes, Frankie goes to Hollywood

    as top tunes.

  10. I've got a rather groovy heart A+ badge that I think relates to my brainy credentials and my boyfriend has a B+ badge that he reckons means 'be positive'. Not sure what we could say if you turn out to be 'O' though. . .

  11. I'll be getting my 10-donations 'bronze heart' for my visit at the end of August. I started donating when a friend of mine had a premature baby. For her first birthday everybody was asked to give blood instead of a gift. Well, I'm cheap. and have been doing it since.
