There's a Kitchen Cynics track called 'The Guidman's ground' on a 2 CD compilation, alongside folks like Pumajaw, Martyn Bates, Sharron Kraus etc. The comp. is called 'John Barleycorn Reborn'...more details here.....
Is that Martyn Bates of Eyeless in Gaza? Not that having a Kitchen Cynics track isn't enough.

Maybe she'll give in to my advances with a third attempt at chatting her up
Not if I get there first!

I missed Richard Thompson there, but I did catch him at the Hotel Metro (!) and Fusion.
I caught the Metro gig too. Almost made me give up the guitar. Was the Fusion gig or the Venue gig the one he did with Clive Gregson and Christine Collister or did they play alone? My memory is failing.
I also say a big YEAH to a Ruffles thread.

The Venue was tremendous. Just reading through this thread brings back happy memories. The first time The Monochrome Set played was possibly my favourite gig I went to there although I always enjoyed The Icicle Works when they played too. I saw many of the names already mentioned but I'll also add, off the top of my head, Hurrah, Tam White, Blues n Trouble, The Proclaimers, Richard Thompson.

Secondhand Daylight has remained in my top ten albums list since the day it was released. Even now it sends shivers up my spine to listen to it. It was one of the first albums that really made me sit up and think "Yes, this is the kind of music I've been waiting for".

The bandstand in the Duthie Park.
The Fishmarket since they land very little fish these days.

Recently had a rather delicious Welsh cheese called Black Bomber. Never seen it before but worth looking out for or I might ask Mellis to get some in.

I'm going to see them here in September.

If it's allowed to get stupid then I suggest Rene and Renatta. Who can forget "Save your love my darling, save your love."

From the AFNY scene I'd like and honourable mention for Schwervon! and The Leader.

Google cyclosportif and you'll find plenty to challenge you in the UK. Even better (if you get the bug), sign up for one in France or Italy and see how it's done properly.

Will Thomas be there with Mary Poppins?

Oi! Leave George Formby out of this.

Sublime. Will check out Mrs mmds photos of the evening.

Danko Jones is great and he knows it. If you were his woman, there is nothing this man wouldn't do for you. Check out Invisible from Sleep is the Enemy for more information.

His last visit to the Tunnels was great and I look forward to this.

This makes me so very, very happy.

I loved Penetration in the late 70's and used to get fed up telling rockers at the time that " no they're not shit and no it wasn't the Banshees". Anyone else got Moving Targets on luminous vinyl? Come into this cupboard and see my luminous vinyl was a great chat up line.
