  1. The Presidents of The United States of America: plus support Tuesday 16th August The Lemon Tree Tickets 13.50 (9 concessions & Regulars) Doors Open: 8pm Show Starts: 8.30pm PUSA split in 1997 after two years of huge success which saw their eponymous debut album sell two million copies in the US and earned them four Top 40 hits - Lump, Kitty, Mach 5 and Peaches (also a big UK hit). Their split was as much a surprise as their unlikley pop stardom but the band recently reformed to the delight of their worldwide army of fans. Ten years on the band's trademark sound - smart, tuneful, quirky and exhilarating - is every bit as fresh on songs both old and new. details
  2. The Man in Black - A Tribute to Johnny Cash feat Union Avenue, Delawair, Ali Johnston, Short Notice and Dave Dixon Saturday 10th September The Lemon Tree Tickets 7.50 (5 concessions & Regulars) Doors Open: 9pm Show Starts: 9.30pm After the huge success of last year's first Johnny Cash tribute night, we've decided to stage another one, and who knows, it might become an annual event! Once again, there could only be one headliner: Union Avenue, starring Peterhead's very own Andrew Cardno as The Man himself. They'll perform some of Cash's greatest hits as well as a few well-chosen covers in the boom-chikka-boom style. The supporting bill reaffirms the depth and breadth of his appeal, taking in punk, rockabilly, folk, blues, alt.country and all points between. details

  6. Durutti Column + support Monday 28th November The Lemon Tree 13.50 (9 concessions & Regulars) Doors 8pm | Show 8.30pm Box Office: 01224 642230 One of the first signings to the legendary Factory Records, the basic idea behind Durutti Column's music is to break with whatever structure supports the foundations of musical formalism, in order to try and create a kind of music which really can belong to everyone. 7. Dexter Ardoin and the Creole Ramblers Saturday 13th August Tickets 9 (6 concessions & Regulars) Doors Open: 8.30pm Show Starts: 9.30pm Born into a family with a tradition that is one of the most influential in the recorded history of Louisiana music, Dexter Ardoin has been playing Creole and Zydeco music virtually all of his life. (Zydeco is the more uptempo, bluesier big sister of cajun and great music for the dancefloor.) Dexter has remained true to his family and musical roots while simultaneously maintaining the ability to be a modern innovator. This is the first time we've been privileged to present a live zydeco band since the brilliant CJ Chenier over ten years ago, so this extremely rare opportunity should on no account be passed up. details

  9. Fat Hippy presents: Eddison, My Minds Weapon, Killer Angels, Red Man Walking Friday 12th August Tickets 5 (3.25 concessions & Regulars) Doors Open: 9pm Show Starts: 9.30pm Fat Hippy records return to The Lemon Tree with a selection of acts from their roster. Eddison headline this showcase with their The Killers meets The Prodigy take on rock music. Sometimes the simplest expressions hold the greatest weight, the most honesty and emotional resonance. My Mind's Weapon are nothing if not a band you can believe in, a band to trust on their word. So take the red pill and step through the looking glass, because to truly believe in My Mind's Weapon, you have to see them for yourself. Killer Angels return to The Lemon Tree, after their storming set here in April. Though commonly mistaken as a play on words for a famous movie title, Red Man Walking have been anything but mistaken for a thrilling and memorable act! The Scottish quintet's rise has been nothing less than meteoric. Instead of walking, they've hit the ground running! details

  23. A quick note on behalf of The Needles, just a little note to let you know that for the next 3 weeks, The Needles have two previously unreleased tracks available to download at www.karmadownloads.com When you get to the home page, click on Rock/Alternative then Discovered competition. That will bring you to the right place. Each download that they receive counts toward their chart position and at the end of the 3 weeks the top three bands will win slots at a heap of festivals - what fun. The downloads cost 89p each but you get to keep them for ever and ever and your support is most appreciated. remember "The Needles fan is the wise man..." - Dave Dixon
