Chris Martin, aka DJ Premier, best known for being one half of the Rap duo Gang Starr, is also a DJ and record producer. DJ Premier has produced almost all of Gang Starr's tracks as well as tracks for many other groups and solo artists since the 1990s. He has produced tracks for such artists as Jay-Z, Big L, The Notorious B.I.G, Nas, M.O.P., Jeru The Damaja, KRS-One and Mos Def. DJ Premier's style of production is considered "underground" Hip-Hop or "alternative" Hip-Hop. He is known for sampling Jazz artists, as well as sampling an artist's past work, when he is creating a new track for that same artist. He is known for combining small vocal portions from multiple artists to make one hook on a track he is producing. This creative technique has made him one of the most sought after producers in Hip-Hop. DJ Premier's name refers to claim to be the first and the best in his style. His original stage name was Wax-Master C, the "C" coming from his real name.

Having faked their own deaths at the end of their second album "Superhero Music" Peter Parker and Sneaky were blasted off into space in metal coffins . The beginning of their third album "Fingathing And The Big Red Nebula Band" finds them hurtling towards the sun. By chance their coffins fall into a new spacetime continuum called the Red Nebula (Walk In Space). The coffins are found by a giant robot who reanimates the duo (Reanimo).
Meanwhile on a desolate planet, their intrepid friend Mista Fist, (a small fist-like character who has appeared in all their artwork) is wandering around, he opens a door and upon going through it, the haze of the Red Nebula hits him, he learns that Fingathing are alive and well and recording with the Red Nebula Band!

When Alex Harvey died in 1982 he left behind a legacy and passion that survives to this day true cult status. The Sensational Alex Harvey Band were equally loved: they were the biggest-grossing UK live act of the mid 70s; they released eight critically-acclaimed albums in their five years together and they inspired many of the top names in popular entertainment over the last 30 years, from Robert Smith to Nick Cave, Billy Connolly to Richard OBrien.
WINDING up the career of one of the best live bands of all time was never going to be easy. Alex Harvey is the only international megastar in Classic Rock's top 100 frontmen - getting to No17 amongst the Floyds, Maidens, Mercurys and Lennons of the world ain't bad going.
With the original line-up (without Alex, sadly, of course) and a new singer, all ready to give SAHB a send off to remember, its going to be one hell of a gig.
So, get set for the kind of SAHB show not seen or heard since 1977...

Drawing on a diverse range of musical sources, but paying particular mind to the work of the Velvet Underground and Suicide, Clinic's inventive "cut-up" approach to music provides a welcome relief to the grey mediocrity of the post-millenial independent music scene.
Formed in liverpool in 1997, they signed to Domino records after three independent releases. Their heady mixture of drone-rock, psychedelia, doo-wop and psychobilly has drawn rave reviews for their two albums to date with their greatly anticipated third already nestling snugly in the bomb-bay.

Johnny Cash is one of Country music's greatest legends.
During his lifetime he recorded 1500 songs and has placed 48 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop charts - about the same as the Rolling Stones and the Beach Boys. He is one of very few people in the history of music to sell more than 50 million records.
Union Avenue and many more play tribute to one of the greats.
Union Avenue play the least expected cover versions of popular songs in the style of Johnny Cash during his early Sun session years in the 1950s.
From Pink Floyd to the Stones and Bob Marley to Creedence, Union Avenue make these songs sound like they were written by, or for, Cash. The band's version of Motorhead's 'Ace of Spades' is a former record of the week on BBC Radio 1 and is available now on Raucous Records.

With sell out shows spanning the country from Lerwick southwards, Nu2 have gained in their 4 years the reputation of being the UK's premier U2 Tribute Show. Every era of U2s successful career is covered in songs from 11 O'Clock Tick Tock through Pride, Where the Streets Have No Name, One, Discotheque and Elevation.

Reggae legends and pioneers, Toots and the Maytals play The Lemon Tree tonight (Thursday 1st July). Toots Hibbert is one of the true architects of reggae-so much so that "Do the Reggay", a 1968 single by Toots and his group, the maytals, is credited with giving the genre its name. Their songs have been covered by the likes of The Clash and The Specials. Their new album featyres guest appearances from the likes of Ryan adams, keith Richards, No Doubt, Shaggy, Bootsy Collins and Eric Clapton.
Tickets for tonights show are selling out fast, but there are still a few left, so make sure you get one and come along tonight to see a real legend.

Hungary's Muszikas are one of the very finest of all European folk ensembles and in singer Marta Sebestyen, they are blessed with one of the world's greatest singers.
Formed in the late 70s, they have introduced the breakneck dance tunes and heartbreaking songs of Hungary to hundreds of thousands around the world, though they have seldom toured in the past decade or so. The prominence of Marta's divine voice on the soundtracks to the films Music Box and The English Patient has helped them touch millions more.
Muszikas also perform the thrilling music and song of much of eastern Europe and its gypsy population and this is a rare and unmissable opportunity to see one of the world's purest and best traditional groups.

Singer-songwriter Vonda Shepard enjoyed one of the more unique career breakthroughs in pop music history; while most performers rely on radio airplay or relentless touring to win fans, Shepard instead shot to fame as a result of the hit television series Ally McBeal, which featured her performing live on an almost weekly basis. Not only was The Radical Light's "Searchin' My Soul" used as the series' theme, but Shepard herself became a regular cast member, playing the house performer at the local nightclub the program's title character and her co-workers frequented. She visits The Lemon Tree in support of her new album, Chinatown.
