  1. i enjoyed last night's.

Particular highlights were Jay saying that Will's mum's new fella was going to "crush her" and Neil saying "i'm need to do a poo out of my arse".

Oh yeah and Jay saying he knows a lot about gardening coz his Dad used to date Delia Smith!

  2. hello.

Myself and a drummer are looking for an intelligent, innovative and diligent bassist to join our Star Rover project.

Star Rover can be listened to here Star Rover on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads please bear in mind that recorded versions of these songs are often very much 'toned down', so to speak, compared to a live version.

Someone who could provide backing vocals would be very much appreciated! And our age-range is around 20-29.

PM me or reply here if Star Rover could float yer boat or if one is interested

    Cheers, Davy.

  3. thanks for the comments! I realise the singing is a little ropey; if i come up with a singing melody that is difficult i always practice to try and nail it but it's always the same - i want to get my songs recorded whilst they are there and as such my singing on the track is far worse than it will be months down the line!

next one is an instrumental though so

I was convinced that the song doesn't have a chorus but i think i know which part you mean. And, finally, yes i am still very much a novice producer/mixer...

  4. If it's a good day, a walk on Balmedie Beach.

You can explore the dunes and take in the natural beauty.

Maybe you could stray as far up as the Ythan Estuary and catch sight of some seals.

Then after that....a good fingering in one of the old WWII gun emplacements.

Sorry :O - the first 3 sentences stand though

genuinely thought these were innuendos at first but the brutishness of the following sentence ruined that.

i could never do the date thing i don't think. i get too nervous and talk about myself non-stop then i appear like a self-obsessed narcissist which is really n.... wait a minute..

  5. the SM57 should be great for your acoustic. I use an SM58 for both vocals and my acoustic. The mic will be as close to the sound'ole as possible without disrupting my playing (i have ruined a few takes before by whacking the mic with my hand!).

Get a decent another sound and then clean it up in post-production. I usually have to rip out a lot of the bassy-ness in the end but i think i've done ok - Many Moons would be an example of my own DIY approach Star Rover on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

and that was done with an awful acoustic!

  6. alright guys.

just got down to my ma's for crimbo and my new electro-acoustic Freshman FA250DCE was under (next) to the tree, they went out today so i had a blast :D

now, i played a couple in a couple of shops and thought 'this is a wicked guitar (for my budget etc)' but playing it today there are a two or three buzzy frets. 12th low E being a main offender.

pissed off a bit coz i was really looking forward to getting a decent acoustic as my old piece of shit is, well, a piece of shit. Anyways, whats your advice? Take it back? Or is it just a case of new strings? Or should i take it in to get set-up?

    Help!

    Cheers.
