Smokin' Catfish are a hard working band with a pretty professional outlook so what your saying sounds pretty harsh to me. I know a couple of the guys and it doesn't sound like something they would do.

If anyone is interested, The Snake Temple Kings are playing the blue lamp this Saturday night. We should be playing just about all our material, old songs and new. Should be on stage from around 10pm

I feel the same when 'oldsters' (love it!) are catching the rush hour bus in to town on a morning, and you have to give up a seat for them, when they could have waited an hour or two to buy their crossword puzzles and denture glue, or when they clutter about in town on saturdays, when they've got all pissing week to do that.

It's the downside of working 9-5. You only get weekends to get stuff done. Saturdays in any city centre are horrible. Fogies should be taking advantage of glorious week days!

It always bothered me when queues of them are waiting to get on to the bus at rush hour. I'm always running late so I'm not exactly at my most patient but it does my head in. They all seem to know each other and the bus driver as well. "Oh lets have a nice long chat to the driver, shall we?"

I always just figured public transport was the highlight of their day.

I think we're the closest thing to the retro kind of prog in Aberdeen.

There are other local bands that have "proggy" ideas but I wouldn't label them prog rock. If there are any other local prog bands, I'd be delighted to hear them.

No I was drinking at the far end of the bar. Farmer (ponytail and beard) and Stuart were working last night. I usually just work Saturdays.

I've been mistaken for being in charge before. . .

Someone fairly recently came into the bar looking underage. I asked for ID and she claimed that she had been there before and that she knows the owner. "Ah so you know Laura or Flash then?" I asked.

"No, I think his name is Rory" She replied. The near by regulars and myself burst into laughter and her face was priceless when I explained that I was Rory.

I am definately not in command.

There were a few drukards present last night. Someone was throwing up in the toilets - and atleast twice. . .

Spotted Teabags - presenting his balls to fli$. I believe the words "Look at it!" were shouted. The mating ritual of a true gentleman.

I really don't like the proclaimers either. If they weren't Scottish then nobody would listen to them. Also, do Deacon Blue get played anywhere other than in this country?

I despise the Smiths. Morrissey is a whining shite house with an AWFUL voice. And why do people try to explain to me that Johnny Marr is a brilliant guitarist? Have I heard the wrong tunes or is he actually just very mediocre?

Guns n Roses. Shit band with boring songs that all sound the same. Extremely overrated music.

It says in your signature that the band playing is "Ghost of Prog". Typical that the one night I wouldn't be able to work due to a gig elsewhere, you'd get a prog band to play the bar.

Bet it's metal night the following week. . .

Edit: Ah, I see now it is Ghost of Progress, not Prog.

While trying to complete an essay for uni I was distracted by a hunt for some new space rock. I found "Anubian Lights". Currently listening to the album "Your captain is dead" featuring Nik Turner. This band are ace!

I suppose its only fair that the STKs get a chance to defend their title of best rock act!

As regards explosive instrumental, that is what is intended for part 2. What we've already got needs more work though, so we'll see about what we do with that.
