I wonder why nobody's suggested the Warehouse.
-
Firstly: good work - that looks like a really cool set of tour dates!
Secondly: nice shirts
The shirts are definitely the business and should be worn at ALL times!

Hopefully, this will go some way to stopping people attributing every extreme weather event to global warming. Hopefully.
(unless they've read that thing about the gulf stream.)
Not true, I have read that this cold spell is due to......global warming!

I'm still dithering on whether to head down for it; since I'll have work the next day in Aberdeen...
If the weather improves I may drive down, then drive back shortly after the Unwinding Hours. Hmm... it'd be worth it to get a copy of the album.
The whole line-up makes it worth going...there's no guarantee the CD will be on sale but it would be daft if it wasn't.

Just been reading on recently created The Unwinding Hours facebook page that their album will be out on the 15th February. This is going to be a long long 6 weeks.
Just in case anyone hasn't heard them yet (shame on you): The Unwinding Hours on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
Got tickets for their debut live performance in Glasgow later this month, hopefully it will be on sale there.

I'm looking forward to the 500th gig party
I can safely predict at least one of us won't be there!

NO nae 24 39
Fair enough

yeah I'd pay around a fiver to see Dave Dixon, and probably around 14 to see Kenny, and a fiver for Indian Red Lopez, so all things considered it really IS a bargain. I canna wait, bound to be a lot of auld faces fae years ago, and we can get drunk and debate which year we bought stuff like Scars T shirts, Another Pretty Face and APB singles and compilation albums featuring The Legendary Stardust Cowboy.
24 it is then! I wish I had some of them on CD to play tonight! I wish I had some Miscreants on anything. It's not all nostalgia though!

Happy birthday to me... thanks for popping into the shop and buying stuff for the last 30 years.... come to the party..... thirteen quid please.
12 quid my arse - as advertised. They charge a quid PER TICKET " booking fee " over the counter in 1UP . Thats nae afa pUnk ROcK is it?.
Remember The Tools? I think they were on Oily tae .
I'd gladly pay 15 for Isa and The Filthy Tongues, but I dinna half feel cheated, with the booking fee bollocks, the robbing cnuts.
Just to make you feel better we'll charge you 13 on the door and you'll still be 2 up on your own good deal. Winners all round.

It was a long time ago min!
I have somewhere a 7" by the Naturals (from Wick!!!) on an Oily off-shoot (maybe it should be called a spillage?).
You're making things up now!
-
So do I!!!
Think I sold the Alone Again Or one when the Shamen were at the height of their popularity.
Hey dafty...that wasn't on Oily!
-
That'll be coming round soon
If I make it that far...er...he he he!
-
So do I!!!
According to that book my career went down the plughole in the 90s. This was before I'd ever done my first live gig
I used to have that Tools one..might still be lurking. I've definitely got the President's Men ones, and some APB. Think I sold the Alone Again Or one when the Shamen were at the height of their popularity.
Wish I still had my Sid Ozalid ep (My tortoise bursts into flames was ace).
I still have ALL of mine. Maybe they'll be my pension fund...or maybe not!

Whilst I would disagree with the killing it wasn't BECAUSE he was Bipolar was it?!
-
As an aside I've got a 7" on Oily by a band called 'Tools'. No recollection as to why/how I've got it. I know it was an Aberdeen label and they put out the early APB stuff but not much about the label beyond that. Anyone tell me more?
I've scanned a copy of The Oily Discography and sent it to your gmail address. The scan is from the brilliant and indispensible Great Scots Musicography by Martin C. Strong. Anyone with even a remote interest in Scottish music should get themselves a copy. I wish there was an updated version.

B***leg them
I could but I'm too lazy
-
or some 7" on Oily maybe???
I wish somebody would/could release a CD compilation of those
-
Anybody remember? Ahead of One-up's 30th Birthday party can anybody remember the first record they ever bought from them and which shop? I can't remember 30 years ago and I'm pretty sure it wasn't the first but I distinctly remember buying Secrets of The I Ching by 10,000 Maniacs from the Rosemount shop.

If everybody could download this instead of X Factor/Rage Against The Machine that would be just lovely thank you.

Not often I get annoyed enough to write to bloody polititions...but here goes!
-
I think we should reinterate, this is the ONLY Scottish date. It's great that Fruit bats are willing to make the effort to get here. It would be just as great to see a lot of people making the effort to come along and see them.
