Hmm, nobody would really go to see The Unwinding Hours on their own merit in Aberdeen apart from, perhaps, the 25-35 usual suspects...would they?
Surely a Craig B solo gig with more than 70 people would lead to greater optimism than that! Anyway, as the man said, let's stop Hi-jacking The Twilight Sad thread.

Stop hijacking Twilight Sad threads with your rumourmongering.
Anyway. I'm looking forward to seeing The Twilight Sad again.
The Twilight Sad.
You're no fun
-
it wouldn't be awesome?
Probably would, but.....ah, wait til Monday.
-
ooh, that would be awesome.
Errr.........no.
-
If available, I would BOOK them.
I've corrected that for you

First half of UH is good, not entirely what I expected, but good.
What's wrong with the second half?

The seem to have kept it quiet so far, but it's good to know there still is one

I'm very surprised this is by an outside promoter, but if it is, then the Lemon Tree isn't exactly cheap to hire (in fact, when I got a quote from them sometime last year, I felt it was ludicrously expensive)
I think it's an Lemon Tree (APA) promotion and yes it isn't exactly cheap but it holds 550 people so that comes into play. I'm sure (well partly guessing) that there wouldn't be disimilar costs if you wanted to hire The Warehouse.

This thread is titled CD's you've been buying! Have you been let down again?

Or you could apply for the position yourself, currently being advertised.

You're joking right?
Surely you get it all the time wanna be?

i managed to get a room in the Thistle hotel on union terrace for 39.01, booked 4 days before i stayed there, cheaper than a taxi home for me! was night before the dons game which ended up being cancelled against Falkirk in Dec.
as mentioned previous if you got a saver deal at travelodge that could be cheapest option, especially if you're lucky enough to get deal, obviously depends on the night / when you book. fri-sun tend to be cheaper but occasional 29 deals on other nights...
I wonder how they got to 39.01? Or is that just a typo? We don't get a fair deal on cheap Travelodges

Anybody using the term 'electronica' is automatically disqualified for being unimaginative.
Anybody not making an alternative suggestion is also disqualified.

Wow, that looks proper. Is it a full length film?

Tickets at Kilau, interesting.

Surely you could strike a deal with the Royal Hotel just doon the road min? I've used them a couple of times and they've been pretty easy to negotiate with.
Cheap though, he said cheap!

Andy Mulhern's folks run a Guest House and have a flat they rent out, seems to be cheaper than the Travelodge:
Like all Guest Houses maybe difficult to get mid week?

when i was at architecture school, we did a project there: granted access to the site and spent a few days clambering around the edges taking photos and pretending to push people in. it's cool as fuck. it's certainly got more water in it these days.
infact, i had a massive picture of it on the wall of my flat until two days ago.
Years ago I did some work preparing budget costs for a scheme which I can't remember the details of but even then the cost of draining/keeping dry was prohibitive.

we all moan about the lack good Blues
To be fair, I don' t actually do that...about everything else maybe but not that.
-
What about that windowless Kef hotel? Surely not having a fire escape in your room cuts the price?
Is it even open?

aside from telling them to wise up, im looking for cheap alternatives.
That is what you should do! Depending on how far ahead you're booking it is worth checking Travelodge for cheaper deals although typically these seem to be less available in Aberdeen than elsewhere. But sometimes, especially weekends.
