Ah' date=' what a gig! I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Gig of the year so far [/quote']
Yeh was fucking good gig!
The Upstarts - wonderful. I wouldn't have expected anything less. Nice set' date=' tight as always, grand for a bit of a boogey. Hit the Bottle is [i']the tune. 4.5/5
Yeh these guys are good loving 'Lies, Lies' cant get it out my head since they recorded it in college!
Thinkpol - OMFGM8. Fantastic. I had built them up in my head for so long and definitely not disappointed. The melodies' date=' the energy, the total rocking out. Is This Goodbye and The Rhino Rules are magic live. 'mon the return to the 'deen. Made for lovely house guests too. I have a very drunken recording of Matt doing Wings by Skylar. 5/5 for that alone.[/quote']
6/5 These guys fuckin rocked they have some really good vocal harmonies, a great frontman who can fuckin sing and sing fuckin well! I dont have a fuckin bad word to say about these kool guys was a pleasure to be involved with the sound for them and Jenny got it sounding fuckin rockin! *ears are still ringing*
Sonic Boom Six - what can you say' date=' really? Bloody great they were. The new tunes are sounding mighty and the old ones were done as good as always. Northern Skies and Blood For Oil were highlights of the night. Monkey See, Monkey Do too, best dancing song ever. Can't wait for the new album another 5/5.[/quote']
I'm sorry i didnt enjoy them as much probably because i was too busy concentrating on trying to help Jenny resolve some feedback problems we were having due to the fact the female singer wasnt singin deep into the mic and waving it about infront of monitors. But from what i did see and hear they were decent enough.
BUT THINKPOL were fuckin great and a really nice bunch of guys we need to get them back, someone *cough* (kirk) get them back pronto cant stop listening to the EP.
Take it easy,
Danny.

Sainsbury's don't sell products labelled with "this isn't properly cooked and half the ingredients are missing' date=' but it will be ace when it is finished - so try it and see if you like it anyway"...
(ok that was a shit analogy, but you catch my drift! )[/quote']
i agree they sell SHITE!

-
well that was a gd wasted 20mins
maybe they just wanted to let ppl hear what they sound like??
-
nick i love you! and btw iomega's ep is fuckin ggreat!! *cough*
-
yeh good tunes.
-
my thoughts exactly!
-
remember toilet paper is for ur bunghole! dont think they will appreciate ur re-decorations! haaaaaaaaaaar!
-
i've shat better bands than fightstar
love from christy
hmm u must have really good shits then!
-
if u actually look into it they have been going for longer than u think even when charlie was in busted he was rehearsing with fighstar. And if u were offered some money ur telling me u would turn it down?? gd luck eating and living then!
i like this band i think their songs are gd and they have strong melodies and gd songwriting ideas. They were playing most of the toilets in London if u have a wee look seeing as thats where they were based and they didnt do any mass promotion most of their 1st material was spread by word of mouth.
And if u have any idea how royalties work u will know he probably has a wee tad bit of money form the busted stuff but the tourbus and everything will be paid back by the band to the record label from the money the recoup through sales, how do u expect bands to survive without any money??
Danny.

From what im hearing review wise and on the radio its pretty good and a great debut album. But I'm already into them and think their fuckin good. Waste a moment is released on Monday but the acoustic version in my opinion is fuckin ace!
Just have to wait and hear the album myself.
anyone else into them??
Danny.

i wouldnt go spending £700 unless ur determined to put a real investment into home recording for good reasons for what i reckon ur doing i.e. demos just a couple hundred quid would do you in good stead.
Danny.

Yeah' date=' a decent preamp is next on the list. Im going to try out the SM57 on vocals and guitar, got it for 40 on Ebay which I think is a pretty good deal. I can see this home recording stuff taking over my life hehe.
Thanks for the info Y'all[/quote']
just make sure its not one of those cheap japenese copies some things looks better than they are on Ebay!!
Theres alot of these decent USB soundcard/preamps out there like the Edirol one i mentioned earlier and their not that pricey either it jus depends on what your wanting to do?
Danny.

yeh justin king alll the way what else has he done, he got any releases?
-
in the case of soundian tho it is more that he is a grumpy bastard.
ha ha....hmm the dealings i have had with him havent been to bad, helps if u buy him a pint though!
-
wow thanks for that wonderful insight into the minds of sound engineers...............
no problem.
-
i could always find out seeing as nathan the drummer is the tech at abcol but u could always use their site!!
-
What about Sonar? you could always use that i ran cubase 5.1 for a while it was decent enough!
Best advice is to get a decent pre-amp some basic mics and ur sorted. You can always find someone with the software ur looking for.
Im quite keen on pro tools so the Mbox II is tempting me but im jus doing acoustic based stuff right now. Theres so much out there man just have a good look about and see what takes ur fancy.
Danny.

i reckon it could be worthwhile but its all down to personal choice and the band in question of course it would make more sense for edinburgh bands cuz they dont have to do as much work as its right on their doorstep!
-
Im still undecided on Emergenza but i did enjoy the crack of reading some of the stuff ppl wrote on here!
And the reason sound engineers dont stop moaning is cuz of some of the cack they have to listen to daily!
-
aye its doss!
