    HOT MANGU

    xx

  2. i mostly think that Machine Head's new album is frickin' great

i've listened to it many, many times already... :]

i have always felt that they are the best metal band i've ever seen live

(and before anyone says anything - i've seen frickin loads of bands so sshhtt!)

and i thought that after each time that i've seen them

they're live dvd is amazing too btw..

however i was still waiting for that record that would give me that feeling

    this is definitely it

the last album was almost there.... but this one kicks so much ass

can't wait to see them again

if you like metal and dont like this then you're a bigstinkypantsface!

in conclusion... listen to Ben... he's right

  3. no offence to craigie and brian cos i love those guys and they know this...

but i didnt think much of this years "awards ceremony"

there was a distinct lack of atmosphere for the whole night

maybe cos i had a cold and was feeling rubbish probably didnt help much

but i didnt enjoy the bands much and i thought the glitz and glamour of previous years didnt seem to be there at all..

had the fancy powerpoint presentation been working it may have been a bit better

    i just wasnt feeling it

the voting should be more accessible in future

i think that would help a lot

...also it almost seemed like "the people who drink in the moorings awards"

i understand of course that its all a bit of fun

but i do feel there is potential for a proper awards ceremony for local bands

and if it was done really well it would be great fun

    and 8! phhht!

    :]

  4. your probably right

i think most of the tracks we have available to download are either old stuff or low bit rate mp3's..

there will be some new tracks available to download soon though

might put something up on the myspace this week

we are doing another 2 singles (so 3 in total)

    then an album in october

so there will be plently of new stuff coming out this year

    - hopefully it'll all sound much better

    :]

  5. AUBLooza VI - ALL DAY GIG

FRIDAY DECEMBER 29th @ THE TUNNELS

    - Hexagonal Pensioners

    - Hot Mangu (5th birthday show)

    - Longhorn

    - Crashdown

    - Retreat

    - St. HF

    - Open Air

    2 entry

    starts at 4 ish

    finishes around 11 ish

    there were more bands

but they're rubbish and decided they couldn't play the day before the gig

    hence..

    Last EVER AUBL Gig

    i'll be there..

    should be fun

if you're band wants to play

why not come down.. i might let you

  6. twat, every time you use "tis" you go down in my estimations big style!

anyhow a quick trip round ipecak/mike pattons discography rendered hot mangu massively useless. i'm happy now, i can listen to the same type of thing done 100% better! YAY!

wowsers! no hard feelings though, i wish all who sail in ship mangu the best of luck, and that track is very interesting - tis on my mp3 player and i'm no doubt going to catch the band live and buy some of their stuff. cos i love them with all my heart.

are you really totally unaware of the " aberdeeny" sound?

    luv and hugs,

    peace out.

to be fair... i only said tis once

    i like saying tis

    tis tis tis

you went down in my estimation when you started your post by saying twat

not very friendly now is it?

am i unaware of the "aberdeeny" sound ?

    dunno really.. does it matter?

is it supposed to sound like they're from somewhere else?

or are we talking about ALL of the bands on the cd?

because not all of them are from aberdeen

and not all of the tracks were recorded in aberdeen..

will look forward to seeing you on the 29th or 31st at the Tunnels

  7. tehee

i like how you "assume" that they are ripping off another bands style

if under seige taught us anything then its "assumption is the mother of all fuck ups"

does it sound "aberdeeny" cos they're from aberdeen?

    that is strange..

should we start recording in perth to get that "perthy" sound?

as far as im aware they mostly just play whatever they want

    they are a band afterall

    tis what bands do

they're music mostly sounds like the stuff that they listen to..

maybes try listening to megadeth, primus, faith no more, system of a down and maybes a bit of jimi... all at the same time.. see if that helps... although it might just give you a headache

    :]

  8. tehehe

i played that song from the carlsberg advert t'other night in the bassment

its mildly amusing still... but perhaps just to me... ... as i didnt see anyone else with a midly amused look on their faces..

    ah well..
