  1. as far as i know it doesn't go to charity. normally promoters keep the profits (if ever there are any), however there is a question if using Fish to promote the gig is a good thing, however the gigs are a memorial, and to be honest, i think it's more of a get together for his friends to remember him, and it is a really nice thing to do and they do put a lot of effort in.

not sure what my point is, but it's a valid question to ask why it's being done every year, if you're not connected with him or his friends etc.

oh yeah, and danny, that was a bit harsh, a bit over the top keep the happy spirit about this and don't get over protective.

  2. i don't like the nme and i don't like the libertines. but more on principle with the libertines, i go out of my way not to listen to their music (what a snob i am!) one issue of the nme sticks in my mind. it was the one where they were celebrating pete libertine getting out of jail (early?) it showed a picture of him on the cover totally wankered. i was so pissed off that they were celebrating the fact that this guy was a total wanker/pisshead/idiot who would steal his friends stuff and get a huge slap on the back (by the nme) for it. [/rant]

i mostly like the fly. it's ace to find out what gigs are on wherever i'm going to be!

  3. i don't know about auf der maur, what i heard i didn't think was amazing, but then i was pysched up to see apc. but neil, i wouldn't diss all of it, we didn't hear a lot of it cos we were upstairs, but the last song was ace, thankfully.

the whole booing england thing, yeah, beautiful mob instincts but quite right, newcastle is shit....

  4. is that staight edge or emo yr talking about vaya?!

all the folk i've known who are/have been (god forbid they didn't stay that way!) have been the craziest folk i know, always dancing longest and throwing themselves around then collapsing, while us fools who drink and smoke and whatever else stand and tut at them!

but they would definately be up for a drinking contest. apparently if you drink lots of water (4 or 5 pints) you spew!

  5. what a gig! shame i missed ....to keep it safe but oh my god i thought zillah were just amazing! i (and most of the folk around me) were just mesmerised. didn't understand it, but i liked it. 9th plague were pretty ace too. fully enjoyed them. and of course, as always In decades decline and broken oath were excellent. wow. good gig. well done dave!
