Airplay is airplay and people do listen to it, it's all about exposure isn't it !! Radio 1 is a crap station but you'd be foolish to write it out of your plans !!

I've seen Amy a few times, never seen Katherine, although I've heard very good things about her, a lot of people really rate Amy as well. I have to admit I tend to find Amy's stuff a bit run of the mill, she plays with her band or acoustically, but it's very possible i'm just missing something, as a lot of people like her and she's very popular, it's kind of angsty rock, or that's how it sounds to me.

Dokken like Def Leppard but with better solo's ?? I don't think so, Dokken aren't a patch on leppard, especially Pyromania/Hysteria era with Steve Clark soloing !!

It's pretty commercial pop/rock, I would think it may have a chance of getting played, for those that have heard or like Emma's solo work, it'll be interesting. I've sent demo's to several people involved within the music industry and have had extremely strong feedback, and we're currently looking at getting a few very special guest musicians to record bits for the album, should be excellent, we've already had strong record company interest, so fingers crossed for us

I'm on the verge of launching a new musical project called Baby Karma wih Blair Cunningham and Emma Forman, we've been working on tracks since November and are interested in getting some airplay for some of the tracks, anyone got any idea of who would be the best person to approach in Northsound nowadays ? The tracks are pop rock, very good (of course ). The tracks were recorded in Post Box Studio's and features some of Emma's stunning vocals over Blair's orchestrations.

Any ideas anyone ?

Got my tix rumour has it they may be sold out by the time they are meant to go on general release, and to think people were worried about them not being able to fill these venues after 12 years away...

Gonna be a good set of gigs for this Summer, 2 Fish dates in April, Marillion in July, Rush in September, Download Scotland, Duran Duran... it's gonna be cool... Anyone doing any of these ?

Quo was one of my first gigs, and yeah big Queen fan too, I was lucky enough to go to the 10 year anniversary gig of Freddie's death where Roger and Brian reformed with Bruce Dickinson and did a classic version of Radio Gaga, also seen Roger play with the SAS Band several times with Fish, and been out drinking and made a twat of myself having been introduced to Roger - D'oh !!

I like Then Jericho but you can't deny the fact that these bands only had commercial appeal for one or two albums regardless of how good they were, and with the added bonus of the Darkness not being original or inspiring then I see their shelflive just as short, if not shorter, and I wasn't talking about quality anyway because I think the quality of the last album is poor, I'm talking about commercial success, which will fade them into obscurity in the next few years.

Sorry got to disagree, they're bunch of twats who are playing mid 80's rip off stuff with none of the talent and have only made it big by media hypes, for proof of this all you need to do is check out the meda hype thrown around at the end of last year, they were media darlings but once that ends which it already is, they'll fade from media view, and if ever a band that were over hyped its them without the hype they'll fade.

Lets see if there still doing this well in a year or two, I doubt it, they're the rock and roll novelty of this year, its like haircut 100,Sigue Sigue Sputnik, or Then Jericho, without the media they will fade and die.

The darkness are a one, maybe 2 album wonder at most, they are a terrible band, the solo's are so much a Brian May rip off the only thing that lets them down is the lack of talent, Justin's voice has no mdulation, he can't pull off the live thing. And before anyone sees them I've heard the album several times and seen them live 3 times at other peoples gigs and they were terrible. Wailing, unoriginal, and having spoken to themselves was amazed at how seriously they took it all, personally think they're overated crap, and want to be Van Halen, AC/DC and Queen but aren't good enough to lick the boots of any of them.

Well its obvious who i'm going to say, but Jo McCafferty who this year has played with some of Scotlands biggest names and has played venues as diverse as The Wild Boar to Glasgow Barrowlands, and from The Lemon Tree to the Amsterdam Paradiso, not to mention having sold well over 1000 copies of her acoustic album Radiaxial, and shared a stage with members of Marillion, The Stone Roses, Genesis, the Eagles, XTC, Ultravox, and Big Country.

She plays within Aberdeen but probably isn't part of the popular scene, but she had one of the mosr successfull years of any Aberdeen artist this year. Well worth seeing for people who haven't seen her, and you can see her on Friday at the Wild Boar.

Apart from that I'd have to go for Emma Foreman, who's acoustic shows are brilliant, and her singing and songwriting is of the highest quality.

The release date for Jo's latest album is Monday, yep

tomorrow. As there hasn't been anything released for a

while we decided to bridge the gap, we're hoping to

have the new band up and running by the end of the

year and Jo decided to end the acoustic era with a

bang.

'The Eight Year Gap' is Jo's 'new' acoustic album and

is comprised of sessions which were recorded between

the release of Nothing Whispered to Katy and

Radiaxial, some of the songs you'll recognise as early

versions of Easier Said Than Done and Lady Day are on

the disc.

There are 16 recordings available for the first time

on this cd, including crowd favourites like Patricia

Neale, and Melt. This CD will be available for 10

plus the usual CD shipping fee. This will be added to

the website shop soon from www.jomccafferty.com and feel free to comment on this thread.

This new album is a superb collection of songs, many

of which have never been played live and will

certainly be a classic for anyone who liked either of

the first two albums.

Hopefully this will whet people's appetite, there

should hopefully be lots of news from Planet Jo soon,
