  1. Totally....will need to see you live at somepoint (I ain't seen much live bands at all this year....), I'm sure it will be a different deal live, and as you say, I'm going by the first demo! (I still think its cool though!) On another note...just listened to the new Quik song....definitely pushing Quik up to being my favourite local band...so more in a rush to Quik live :D:D:D

    Yes or no.

I must add, I have no particular axe to grind on this issue. Although I don't smoke myself, I suppose common sense indicates a ban would be a good thing. I'm not enitirely convinced that passive smoking is as bad as is made out.

Don't be so sure....I spent only a couple of months sharing a flat with people who smoked only in the evening...and it has seriously fucked up my throat.....they knew how bad I was coughing at the time, which I put down possibly to cold....its been 3 months since it started thought and isn't stopping anytime soon....

Bring back the bands like lifer, that go kicking booze and fags out the crowds hands :D:D:D

I'm gonna bomb that fucking school.....Ross would have been another great drummer to lure to the dark side.....at least then no one would need to learn any new names...

  4. Don't slate FUGAZI ya damn punk! No one in Aberdeen sounds remotely like a fart coming out of Ian MacKaye's ass....let alone.... :D

Hey, I will add FLIGHT 19 in to my top 10 as they have a great drummer who has a great drum kit, and INEPT 303 could really do with a great drummer who actually wants to use his own drum kit......get in touch mr 19!!! :D:D

  5. I'll pick a near bottom 10 of bands I like...so hopefully no hard feelings

LIBER 8/ALLYSA'S WISH - Have tried getting into this band, and have enjoyed them on numerour occasions live, but can't hear past kris's vocals....don't get me wrong, they got some tunes going (like Morning Lush) I just don't like the vocal style...

MY MNDS WEAPON - I thought I'd like this band more than I do....think their first demo is great, although the second song starts out sweet, then I dunno what happens...then it gets good, then it goes funny....the metal screeches sound out of place to me, but I guess thats all part of their uniqueness. The 2nd vocals would be better sounding more like the TBS vocallist as a better compliment to Ben's low voice....

WE BECOME LESS - Didn't think much of them at first (in the Matt E Boy days) although I do remember Matt telling me it was more James's way out getting out the nu metal in him :) hehe....one of their tracks is a definite winner and constantly on the mp3 player, played on my guitar (in fact I'm working on disguising one of the riffs into one of my own)......last time I saw them live it was more a barrage of noise (a good noise, but pretty incoherent) may have been due to venue....

X-CERTS - hey i loved this band first time I saw them, just didn't like where they went after......some of the songs on the fat hippy EP are pretty cool and I still listen to em from time to time....but it sounds a bit Liber 8-Alyssas Wish to me....

Heheh....everyone will probably go "WTF?!? THOSE ARE THE BEST BANDS IN ABERDEEN YOU FOOL, THE ONLY WORST BAND IN ABERDEEN IS INEPT 303"....and hey, I'l probably agree (especially on the inept 303 bit)....if we all liked the same bands that would suck!!!! and as I said...I don't hate these bands....they just aren't my favourites :D

  6. I never get out much so don't know what most bands are sounding like these days...

    although....

CONTRA - will always get my vote

AKA THE FOX - were great last time I saw them...nice mix of stuff

QUIK - ain't heard them in ages, but they usually rip it up live!!! :D

    10 EASY WISHES - cos they have the mighty A D A M ! ! ! !

MEXICAN BANDIT MOUSTACHE - Although only a one man bedroom project of Tom Easy Wishes, some of the best old school hardcore I've heard in years :D:D

  7. Haha brilliant night.....those losers inept 303 were reunited with their original bassist Neil, and did a couple of blink tracks, an inept 303 track "never growing up"....and a cringe worthy, unscripted, unrehearsed, sheer jamming at its worst version of "Pretty fly for a white guy" which was....anarchy....

    Mollusc rock anyone?

Fuck me - that word doesn't look right.

This is the one I'm on about, the Zvex Nanohead.....

    http://www.guitarexperience.com/html/modules.php?name=catalog&file=product_info&products_id=81 425 its actually 0.5Watts

  9. Haha...I can't believe the current trend in 50W amps....I bought the 100W head just cos I thought that was the norm....I've blown mine twice on stage....and thats with good valves. correct impedence across head and speaker etc.....depends what you play....if you want that valvey saturated sound, stick in a valve preamp into your rig...

I guess if you really want an amp you can fucking crank to the limit..check out the 1 watt valve amp head (no shit)....it costs 400 like, which isn't that far off a 100W marhsall....
