  1. From the first page of your link:

So you made the same mistake I did. Any references in that link to Scotland were referencing old laws' date=' not the current legislation.

    [/quote']

the current law in scotland has been the same since like 1972.... if that helps. it may look old but its still the same. i think its maybe being changed soon. but hasnt been for a very long time. (i may not be still correct)

  2. bands rarely make profit.

some bands go for a massive advance and just live off of that and never pay it back fully.

or others may go for a very small advance, pay for stuff themselves and then they'll pay the advance back quickly and start actually making a profit.

its all about the negotiation :-) you could negotiate a massive point like 20-22 then you'll make it abck quickly... or get stuck with something crap like 11 points. and be in debt for EVER

its a crap business really. i say lets be a manager and make 20% of everything.

  3. did none of you hear the pilot say there was no fuel left or they were almost out. or didnt have enough or something. or was that just me cause i knew straight away when the plane went quiet that it was cause there was no fuel left

  4. i dont even think first or second makes a difference. as tv tanned says a lot gets sent the next day anyway

if you mix and match its normally just to get to a price. i worked for a craft company two years ago and when something weighed more than 60g's we had to write the weight down and stamp it cause 1st class only covers 60g's. but if it was going somewhere abroad you had to stick heaps of stamps on. we had a book that told you how much it cost for where is was going and the weight. and you just had to get to that cost or just over with a mix of 1s and 2nd class stamps.

    was a fun job.

  5. Thanks for the answer :)

I really didn't know the answer' date=' it wasn't obvious because places will sell cans of juice for 1.50, yet pay what, 30p a can for them? What I didn't know was just how many cans a venue would expect to sell, or how many glasses of coke/etc that they'd be likely to sell to an underage crowd.

i worked in drummodns for a little time of the summer and there was a gig on one friday that was packed with udnerages. id not seen it so busy in ages, and only about1 in 5 where over 18. yet the bar was still busy with kids buying cans of coke and red bull.

the enxt day i was working and someone asked Eric if it was worth the hassle having underages in if they cant buy alcholo and he pointed out that we sell cans of coke for 1.20 yet the only cost 30p. so he makes 90p profit on everyone he sells. and that makes it worth while.

so i guess we must have sold heaps of soft drinks cause he didnt seem to think they made a difference to bar profits.

but i know id rather just drink water than stupidly priced soft drinks
