WTB 300w minimum 8ohm 18" driver - story below...

So - I'll give the back story as an abject lesson....

Mate has my old black painted Mk2 AH250 and a cut down full flight/face off Trace 18/15/12 cab.

Now, the cab is 300w 4ohms and does bass beyond bass.

Freakin' amazing.

He loans it to a pal for practice and an important gig.

See where this is going...?

Pal is running a rented SVT through it full bore.

Which is no prob for the cab - must have been A++++.

Until

During some antics, the power lead gets knocked out of the head.

Panic.

Then

"Whomever" fixes the problem.

By jamming the power lead back into the hot, dimed and switched on head.

Which produces a light show.

And fuds both drivers.

The 15 is open circuit and rubby.

The 18 is open circuit and moving freely.

Don't ask about the head.... not mine, thank gawd.

Morals a' plenty (no particular order):

Don't loan

Don't have power leads in a walkable/trippable/git access area

Shut your amp down before plugging in

Respect the awesome plate voltages of valve amps

Trust no one to set up/touch/take down your kit

Well, I have loads of 15s, but the BW in my Peavey 1820 cab is 4ohm and I would prefer to reserve my 8ohm Fane Colossus 18 for a project (I have a non-cut down Trace 12/15/18)

Plus I don't reckon the borrower guy wants to pay £300 for the fix.

So.. anyone have a 'no issues' minimum 300w 8ohm 18"?

Price?

Thanks on behalf of mate and borrower.
