Scottish Trad Posted January 27, 2009 Report Share Posted January 27, 2009 Scottish Culture & Traditions AssociationNorth East Fiddle workshop with Paul Anderson Saturday 7th MarchThis workshop for intermediate/advanced fiddle players will look at the techniques and effects which are essential when playing tunes in the traditional fiddle styles of Scotland and the North East, particularly strathspeys. Points covered will include bowing, phrasing, ornamentation, tempo and character.Paul Anderson is already considered something of a legend in the time honoured tradition of Scottish fiddle music. A regular on Scottish television and radio, Paul has toured extensively and has recorded seven solo albums. Paul has tutored for us in the past and his classes are invariably fully booked - sign up early to avoid disappointment.The workshop is a great opportunity to learn something different in a small group environment. There's also a performance/session opportunity at the end of the day in the pub over the road for tutors and participants.Workshops are held @ Queen's Cross Church, Aberdeen.
