She couldn't work out why they'd ask an electronic-pop-jazz-chanteuse to play in such a place with such a band, and so she got her chums together to do country covers of her own songs just for fun. This went down such a treat that they played more and more shows, collecting friends and fans everywhere they went. So they ventured into the studio and recorded the old songs in a fresh country style, and made some new songs in an old fashioned way, and behold... the album "Hold Yer Horses" is out in the UK on Truck Records! How do you like them apples? www.myspace.com/pineygirBLUEFLINTBlueflint are the banjo duo of Deborah Arnott and Clare-Louise Neilson. Their material is heavily influenced by Bluegrass and American Old-time music. They subtly intertwine the three-finger picking and clawhammer styles of banjo playing to accompany smooth vocals and harmonies in songs and ballads of love, loss and revenge. Blueflint released a CD early in 2006 and they are working on new material for a new CD which has seen them extend their band membership to include an excellent line up of experienced and versatile musicians working alongside them. These include Roddy Neilson on fiddle, Ian Stoddard on drums, mandolin player Craig McKinney and Joey Sanderson on double bass. www.myspace.com/blueflint
