KittyCat
Yes, yet another thread asking for computer related help. Right here's the thing, just bought the BT Home Hub and the other day me and my bf were trying to set it up. We plugged all the necessary connections into the Hub and managed to connect to the wireless internet using my bf's laptop but when it came to connecting using the computer we couldn't. We bought a wireless adaptor for the PC and plugged it in and got it all set up but nope, couldn't connect to the internet. We then tried to use the modem whilst plugged into the USB port, but alas it still didn't work. We spent several hours trying to work out why it wouldn't work, tried everything we could think of but nothing worked. So anyone got any suggestions on how to get it working etc? Guest onlynik
you'll need to set the ip address on the laptop to something like 192.168.1.6 then set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0finally set the default gateway as 192.168.1.1 this all assumes that the default for the home hub is 192.168.1.1 (its a pain in the arse if you don't know what you are doing, I had to talk my sister through setting her one up, twice)
