Mouse
Since I installed an X2N (highest output DiMarzio humbucker) in the bridge of my Pacifica, the volume of this pick-up is noticably larger compared to the single coils (obviously!). Since I'm happy with the sound of the single coils themselves I don't want to change them, but I'm wondering is there some kind of circuit you can fit to boost the output of those pick-ups? POISON
have u tried raising them so there closer to the strings? that maight help a bit not much thought, it really depends on how strong the magnet is i think.
Tav
I think a variable gain booster for your pick ups might work. EMG have the afterburner for use with their products, it might work with other pickups you will have to check their site. If I remember correctly you can get 20Db of boost from it. Rob Karloff
Build a small pre-amp and run just the single coils through it before the selector switch. Pretty simple to do, parts are inexpensive.

Any examples of an effective pre-amp circuit? Diagrams?
