framheim
check out the 4 nominees here:http://www.tate.org.uk/britain/turnerprize/2005/default.shtmi quite like all of them this year(going on the meagre amount of pictures on that site), though i like the fact that simon starling made an electric bike whose only biproduct was water which he used to paint a cactus as he crossed a desert on it. then made the whole thing into an exhibit. PrincessHolly
Jim Lambie's work looks like it would make me fall over the instant I got anywhere near it. Gillian Carnegie's is nothing special if you ask me. Perhaps because it's so Autumnal and with the shortening of the days I crave something bright and fantastic to stop me from wanting to hibernate. framheim
i liked her work, though i feel it may have been included as a 'token painter' or that it might be seen as that.
PrincessHolly
Yeah I get that impression too. It's nice work and everything, but I'm sure there's far more unique and orignal work out there.I went to a few University Graduate Exhibitions in London in the summer and I was just amazed by the standard of work. In comparison, her work just fails to register. But who am I to talk? It's not like I can paint or draw or do anything artistic at all.
