palmer_eldritch
http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAND.asp?band_id=1744Found these dudes on prog archives. Steve Hillage playing guitar on the album too!"Their only album was recorded inside the great pyramid and deals with ancient Egyptian mythology. It is rather meditative with the flute of Nik Turner being predominant; lots of synthesizers and spacey guitar and vocoder. The album gets rockier towards the end, but don't expect any crashing guitars like HAWKWIND. For any fan of the psychedelic branch of prog this is an absolute must album."Sounds like something i'd like to hear. Anyone ever heard of or listened to their stuff? I imagine it must be pretty hard to find, but if anyone can offer any pointers as to where i might find this album, please share. I should probably ask at the tunnels. . . Balvack
It looks like this...Hmm, made me dig it out and listen to it again. To whet your appetite it looks something like this...http://www.aberdeen-music.com/galleries/browseimages.php?c=3102It appears to be available here - though with an incomplete track listing ? and some incompatability with my Mac means I can't check it out :http://www.mp3shits.com/full/download/Nik_Turner's_Sphynx_-_Xitintoday_mp3/25892/Checking out the Tunnels is a much better option for the sensory delectation of having a chunky slab of vinyl in your hands with those loveable crackles than a sterile and compressed MP3 shadow of the real thing (spot the biased oldie )
palmer_eldritch
Cheers, i'll check out the link and listen to a wee sample of it! I hear Nik Turner recorded another album with the same songs rewritten. Apparantly not so good. I'll have to make sure i don't get that one by mistake, cuz i'm dying to hear how turner and hillage sound together. . . (Especially in the great pyramid )
