Guest bluesxman
Yeah, I bought a few items by some of the bands mentioned there My Bloody Valentine, Ride, Moose, Chapterhouse, Verve, Swervedriver, Slowdive - Ride were one of my favourite bands during the early EP's and Nowhere album and played one of my favourite gigs at the Music Hall around the time of Nowhere but their second album left me cold apart from Leave Them All Behind. Seeing them again at the Capitol started a decline in my liking for them really. Verve supporting were much more interesting. I still bought the other Ride albums but rarely listen to them, Tarantula especially. Swervedrivers first album is still worth a listen, much heavier than the other bands lumped in with that scene. Slowdive's just For A Day album is still a nice easy listen.
red5
i was also at the ride music hall gig & agree it was fantastic, must have been 1991 or 1992. i seem to remember the soundtrack album for twin peaks being played before the bands came on which was cool. french_disko
I'd say MBV are one of my favourite bands ever & I also love Ride as well - though the later stuff wasn't so good.
