Would love to use The Lemon Tree, but it's affa affa expensive !!

I love the Blue Lamp and have used it for most of my gigs.
The main room is a brilliant room and I've had nothing but compliments about the sound.
There's also a smaller room upstairs (cap. 40-50 maybe ??)

My dream is to put on an Americana music festival in Aberdeen, similar to the Glasgow Americana Festival and Southern Fried in Perth.
Admittedly nae abodys cup o tea musically, but it would be great !!
Maybe one day!

Where are good place to put up posters to advertise a gig ?
Obviously, there is the venue itself, but I've tried loads of places (shops/cafes e.t.c) and a lot of them don't allow it.
So far I've got posters up in
HMV
R&B Music
iiMusic
Book & Beans
Cavern Records
any others anyone knows of ?

Is there anywhere that plays regular country music gigs in Aberdeen, or country music bands that play often ?
There used to be a big country music scene in Aberdeen in the '60s/'70s but seems to be nothing now.

They are 'My Darling Clementine'
http://www.mydarlingclementinemusic.co.uk/
Michael Weston King has been on the Alt. Country/Americana scene for the last 20 years or so and has played Aberdeen several times as a solo artist.
My Darling Clementine is his new(ish) project with his wife Lou Dalglish

I've got the gig sorted for Drummonds on 4th August !
I've had a couple of e-mails from other bands looking to get gigs in Aberdeen, so I might be doing more of these !!
Anybody got any advice on what to look out for and Do's & Don't I should be aware of ?
Any advice would be a great help !

What is the standard fee to pay a support act?
Do they usually get a %of the door too or a fixed fee ?

I've seen you guys before @ The Moorings, had a really good night !!
I'm going to try The Blue Lamp, Lemon Tree, Tunnels, Cellar 35 and Snafu so far. Any others that I could try ?
Not sure if The Moorings is the right place for them, maybe when they have a full band but not sure for just the two of them.
It needs to be a place where I can sell ticket to pay them. They are playing several festivals through the summer and have a free couple of nights and have asked me to organise a gig for them.

I've been given the opportunity to promote a gig for a Country/Americana acoustic duo in Aberdeen.
This is the first time I've done anything like this, and if I can get this one done I would like to keep going and try to promote more bands in the Country/Americana genre. There doesn't seem to be many country acts play Aberdeen.
I'm looking for any advice that anyone can pass on to get me started i.e venues, pitfalls, things I should/shouldn't do.
Thanks for any help.
