I saw that too. I'm no guitar expert by any means but even I knew the Strat was something special.

Unlikely as that's the one I'm probably most fond of. No idea how much it's worth either. I was given it as a thank you by a close friend so I don't look at the Hohner in a monetary sense.

  The originals sound a wee bit too light so I'll try the D'Addario XL 45-105 as you suggested and use them as a starting point and go from there. I'll also visit basschat for a wee gander.

Am looking to restring my Jackson JS2 Bass soon. Looking for recommendations of brand, gauge etc. Most of the stuff I play is rock, punk, 80's pop and suchlike if that helps.
