Just watched Paul. Although this will always be compared with Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz as ''not as good as...'', I loved it. The interplay between Pegg, Frost and the alien was superb, it was a movie that you could switch your mind off to and just sit back and enjoy..

As the last post was ''dinosaurs'', I'd thought that I'd get this thread back on line...
Stomping around on the plain,
the T-Rex played a cruel game,
on a small, nasty raptor
He cornered and trapped her
and rogered her ass till he came!!!

Wish I had the space, time and y'know luck to have been alive at the right time to collect vinyl, especially now I've managed to pick up a turntable. I think it was iTunes where I found Soul Makossa.
Wow Betty Davis is a find! No wonder with Greg Errico and Larry Graham and others on there.
I really do need to work backwards from Parliament/Funkadelic more. I seem to have found more stuff from people involved with them or following on from them, Junie Morrison, Roger Troutman etc.
Check out the solo Bootsy and Rubber Band stuff, Sweat Band, Godmoma, Parlet, The Brides Of Funkenstein, Kiddo, Original P, Reggie Griffin, Garry Shider...there's so much to trawl through, I could spend the whole day listing bands to track down and have a listen to.
Also, give Slapbak a try, an up to date band who can certainly cut the mustard with the old school crowd.

You can still do her up the shitter at 17. The age of consent is 16, regardless of which of her orifices you violate! Legally, fine. Morally? Hmmm....
hahaha, I really did think that she was 22....she looks like she had a hard paper round!!!
-
eep!! Dropped a bollock on that one then!!!
-
Don't bother with it mate, it's just talking all the way through!! Even the action scenes (and they are few and far between) in the new one feel stilted.
-
Cher Lloyd is 17 years old.
No she's not, I thought she was 22?!?!

Having just sat through the whole second series of V 2011 and was bored shitless, I was wondering if anyone else remembered the cheap and cheerful 80's version?
And what you thought of the tediously boring new version.

Burke and Hare - great fun and loads of cameos, a real spot the actor! Even legendary effects man Ray Harryhausen makes an appearance! Really enjoyed it.

I bought that a couple of days ago, glad to hear it's good. I just bought it because it sounded good on the back cover.................and it was dead cheap!!

There once was a chav called Cher
Who ripped off songs on x factor ...............(ooh very poor)
she sang a new one each night
and her rapping was shite
but I'd still give her one up the shitter!!!

Hank Scorpio: Back to the hammocks, my friend. You know, there's a little place called Mary Ann's Hammocks. The nice thing about that place is Mary Ann gets in the hammock with you, I'm just kidding.
Homer: Oh.
Hank Scorpio: You know who invented the hammock, Homer?
Homer: Em..No.
Hank Scorpio: There's something for you to do.....find that out.

I watched Death Wish 3 the other night and loved every minute of it (probably for all the wrong reasons).
It's so bad it's good, ropey acting, badly staged action sequences, Bronson running around like a 19 year old, hundreds of bullets flying and every one misses Charlie but every time Charlie shoots, he hits his target every time.
A 'Switch off brain and sit back and enjoy' movie. I miss cheesy 80's action movies.

oops...sorry!!

I used to think it was really great,
Going down to Codonas with my mate,
But i went back last week
and had a wee peek,
And their games are 10 years out of date!!!

Lafayette Afro Rock...oh yea, I've actually got the 'Soul Makossa' lp on vinyl. Need to give it a dig out. The song ''Hihache'' (the best song on the album by far) has been sampled by Naughty By Nature, Digital Underground, LL Cool J, Biz Markie to name a few. Never quite took to 'Darkest Light' from the 'Malik' album
Also have a check of Betty Davis (Miles' ex second wife...not the actress) for some real gutbucket 70's funk. The 3 albums she had out between 1973 and 1975 are the bomb!!!

I can't think why in this day and age of Xboxes, PS3s etc someone will still want to put 1 or more into an arcade machine for less than 2 minutes of gameplay.
Arcades were great in the '80s. Now they're shite.
Exactly what I was thinking, look at the Wii, X-Box's Kinect, PS3's Move and the quality of console games in general.
Do you really want to spend an afternoon in a building with about half a dozen over priced games that give you two minutes play per pound with nosy, truanting kids looking over your shoulder telling you what buttons to press when you could do it all in the comfort of your own home without any of that?!?!?
-
Quality, love it where he writes ''I've recently become a pretty good artist...''
Ahhh, self delusion haha

I loved Bruce Millers, I've spent a fortune in there over the years and I'll be sorry to see it go.

Absolutely brilliant, I'm getting strange looks in the office as this has just creased me up

I'm still mesmerised by Curb Your Enthusiasm, I never watched it when it was origanally shown and a mate gave me a loan of the first couple of boxsets, I've never laughed so much and I still catch it whenever it's shown...even if I've watched the episode before!!
-
I watched the original when it was shown on one of the Sky channels....It was a tedious, slow, badly acted movie. I never even made it to the end without dozing off!!! If 2 is anything like the original (even with the sandpaper and razor wire scenes), I'll be giving it a miss.
But I still believe that it should be up to the individual to choose what they want to watch and not some overall governing body to decide for you.

I went to see The Orphanage in the Belmont. Rather enjoyable... bit jumpy. And the English remake will be shockingly bad! I can just tell! Lol.
Please tell me that the powers that be are not remaking this???!!!
It's a shame that when a foriegn movie shows signs of originality and a good storyline, the US movie industry jump straight on the band wagon and remake it with the usual disasterous results!!!

Think that's 2001. The one with Eminem all over it. The Chronic is better and has Snoop Doog all over it. Which is awesome, because Snoop Dogg is awesome. Well, was awesome before he started making all the shit club music.I like 80s rap when it was all with the positive message, and 90s gangsta rap, but most of the past 10 years has been horse, it's all R&B now, Rihanna and Chris Brown and shit like that. Sleazy dudes singing about fucking. Usher for example. What a fucking cunt. If Biggie was still around he'd fling his own shit at him.
I couldn't have put that better myself, Gangsta rap gave old school grooves to a new generation of listeners but the new stuff is just bland, boring, over repetitive rubbish.
The Chronic is one of my all time fave rap albums along with Doggystyle,

No need for that!! The raptor was well above the age of consent!!!!
