Killers have some great tunes on their first album. They quickly nosedived with there second...and the third is just awful.

Coldplay, have a few good tunes, but they suffer from over saturation and being hugely sucessful... which automaically turns people against them.

Scouting For Girls are pish though.

I think at the end of the day we just gonna have agree to disagree. But this thread was posted for those who do like or at least don't mind covers bands (like myself) to share their views and opinions...

cover bands suck.

That's harsh man.... there are quite a few bands out there that can take a shitty song and turn it into something decent... and as i said somewhere before if some people from those bands are lucky enough to play guitar for living- they can't be that bad...

p.s if you've ever been in on a night we had a band on, please let me know what you think- there are so many things we could improve.

Stadia, Beluga (every sat from feb), Globe, Drummonds, Tunnels, Moorings, Richmond Arms in Peterculter...

Beluga has recently been taken over by new owners and is under new management. We are very pleased to inform that we are the newest live music and entertainment venue!

Different bands every saturday for you to enjoy such as Blues Deluxe, The Citrus Theory, Unforgiven, Sopranos, Echo 7, Bash street kids, Miserable Sinners and many more.

We will be hosting thursday nights as well for up and coming bands with completely new and fresh material. So get involved and spread the word.

sounds silly, but we aren't too bothered as long as it's good.

we have blues deluxe, unforgiven, pie shop, miserable sinners, echo 7, citrus theory, bash street kids, sopranos etc doing gigs here so if you know any of them you get an idea....

having played acoustically in beluga a few times i think its a great place....new faces etc etc...

Haven't heard them much live - my fault....

Andi and they guys were in tonight, and i got to play with their demo cd for a while... Brilliant, man!

And for all cover band haters- i'd so much rather listen to people who take an ok song and make something pretty special out of it than some bands playing their own stuff that is more or less painful....

At the end of the day those people do what they love, and if they are lucky enough (im not) to play a guitar for a living they can't be that shit, can they...?
