I've never really been properly involved in the Toxic Distortion thing, purely because they are of no interest to me at all - as musicians or people.
However, I think it's fair to point out that anyone who is in a band or performs music will have to take criticism at some point. Some more than others, for various reasons. It seems to me that most people have sided against Toxic Distortion largely as a consequence of their own actions, behaviour, conduct and communication on this site and in press. I think the best thing for Toxic Distortion to do is stop rising to any criticism they receive on this website and just get on and do what they do. I think I'd be right in saying that approximately 0% of their demographic are regular visitors to this website, which is where they tend to receive criticism.
yeah man, fair point.
i just didnt think what fraz was saying was criticism, it was just him ripping them for no reason.
which is WIDE

I can kinda see what you mean about the sponsership deals and stuff.
Paying onto shows, i can also see what you mean. But can you expect a band to just sit on thee ass the whole time and just wait for all these offers.
But all i am trying to say is, i'm giving TD a bit of respect for doing what they enjoy, not what is cool.

The funny thing is, Runcie has more talent that the whole of your band put together,
And thats somthing that mummy cant buy you.
Fraz, what is point in ripping into folk you don't even know? You don't like the genre of music they play, so you think that gives you a valid excuse to give them crap.
I had a really negative opinion of them before, and one night i spoke to them. I think to be honest i spoke to them as a joke to begin with, but i remember in the conversation they said that they don't understand why people give them so much crap for playing the particular type of music they enjoy.
Fair enough, they may not be the most talented band ever, but Fraz do you remember when you started writing music in your first bands, would you have appreciated someone saying that to you?
Can't wait to get raped for this.

absolutely loved it.
ETID were mind blowing.
tunnels was an awesome venue for it.

Got any others in the pipeline guys? Hows the new line-up getting on?
Yeah dude, we've got more coming. The new stuff we have been coming up with is ace, its exciting. The new line-up is amazing, i'm so stoked with it, its so good for just jamming now...and thats what i love.

I am looking forward to seeing ETID at the tunnels, perfect small intimate venue, but i am not a fan of the support acts. Glass Wolves are ok, but I have never been impressed by All Stations Down. I feel there are better local bands out there than All Stations Down that could support what shall be one of the best gigs Aberdeen has seen.
Thats fair enough, i respect your opinion. But, i hope you do come, and we manage to impress you.
-
haha oh man think i'll be heading down a bit later to this one then.
its gunna be amazing though, been wanting ETID to come up here for years..
why??(
please come

For all those critisising the mix, Nathan am I write in saying that the version on your myspace isn't the final mix/mastering?
we had a newer one, but i still prefered this one for some reason.
but we may get more, not sure yet.

If you don't like people saying they dont like the music, don't ask people what they think because you can't please everybody. And the experience of listening to these tracks far from pleased me.
i really don't mind if you don't like the songs, but i like hearing feedback. Especially from other musicians who maybe dont like the genre, but can atleast appreciate the musicianship.
so thanks for expressing your opinion:up:

Yo Nate, when did Richard leave the band?
hey sam, he left at the start of the year. So we lost 3 of the original members, got a new bassist and guitarist, and pretty much wrote this straight away.
-
You should. They are the best metal band.
yeah from what i have heard they sound good.
nick played the video for 5 minutes alone to me after we recorded.
that one riff is so similar, its embarrassing.
haha
-
Certainly the introduction bit up until the palm-muting bit has the Circa Survive thing going on.
don't listen to circa survive much either haha
-
5 minutes alone!!! thats been bugging me.
it is the worst thing when you write a part only to be told it is 'such and such' by 'so and so'... it happens to me all the time.
yeah dude, i dont even listen to them.
oh well.
-
everyone says it reminds them of pantera. haha
-
hey dudes, we (allstationsdown) put a new song up on myspace this week. Its called "Creeper," and was recorded with Nick Scholey. Let me know what you think.
Cheers
