  1. In your opinion. White Lies, The View and Twin Atlantic are all very popular bands. A quick google search shows that for The View tour in December face value for tickets is £16-£18, the White Lies December tour - tickets are £20-£23 - and it's Hogmanay - prices are always ramped up. I'm not saying it should be £40 or it shouldn't be - just saying that people are often a bit too quick to criticise.

Saying that though - it looks like it's only £15 for a ticket for Edinburgh street party, which has a really good line up for that price.

This AECC thing was probably a bit misguided - the cost to hire that place is fucking expensive, which will be the main reason the tickets are £40 a go. Who is organising the event anyway?

I do think that if it was more centrally located, like the Music Hall, they would have shifted enough tickets (even at £40 a go) to justify it - but they probably had to pay hefty fees for White Lies and The View and tried to get it at the AECC for more potential ticket sales.

Are Twin Atlantic actually playing? They're name is on the poster, but I see they're playing at the Forum on 12th December and they make no mention of the Hogmanay gig on their website.

DF Concerts are putting it on.

  2. Drummonds BOBs are fine I think, no pay to play, or ticket hassle, and if they like your vibez they'll give you some proper gigs. In a respected toon venue. Most of the BOBs people go mad about here are dodgy when you look at the details, sell to yer mates, etc. AKA won 1000 at a Drummonds BOBOTBW, woop.

aye i'm not knocking it (i work in Drummonds/Tunnels etc). Just saying that not ALL battle of the bands are bad. Look at Autum in Disguise (Think thats their name). They did that Red Bull thing and by the sounds of it had an amazing summer playing festivals that they may not have had the chance to otherwise.

don't get me wrong there is a lot of shit as well, but sometimes they can help if run correctly.

  3. We (Fridge Magnets) are also playing this year, Friday 6.30pm on the Jock The Reaper Stage. Early slot but if you are about and fancy a mini rave come along, if not hope i'll see a few of you over the weekend! My first time so can't wait.

  4. Appreciate the feedback folks. Certainly diff than my Kashmir Red days indeed.

But good constructive feedback all of which is taken on board.

Were playing a gig at the Lemon Tree July 2nd with the Little Kicks which should be a lot of fun if you want to come and see us live. It is very night club ish if im honest, but its what were going for, just as a live band opposed to a DJ. (if that makes any sense).

  5. SAT- 14th May - 1pm. Tunnels.

We have day two of our video shoot which will take place at Tunnels, Aberdeen recreating a live gig scene and need as many folk as possible to come down.

For your attendance we shall provide some alcohol to get you in the mood and also if you fancy a party that night we will have an area booked at Tiger Tiger, Aberdeen for anyone who fancies making a full night & day of it.

    Timings to follow asap.

    Cheers

    Steven.
