  1. I agree Bri..the hall is a strange place to play in, it has always been the case, it doesn't matter which band plays there, It has a lot to do with local Mintlaw politics as well. Bands from all parts of scotland have played the hall, some weel known others not so, Mintlaw punters don't seem to want to support there local pub or even have an interest in local bands, the only people that get any kind of support are the football brigade, and even then you have to be part of the " in crowd ". I guess truthfuly that if you got some gigs in Aberdeen your band would probably get a better following and better support. See ya's at the next gig.
  2. Wow..Alice Shad..wasn't the drummer fae mintlaw..sure his last name was Kidd. I used to listen to them outside the public hall in Mintlaw..we were young so we didn't go in just in case we got a kickin' fae the older guys.
  3. I met Rick ( kerching ) O'shay last year in the peternapper..i was led to believe he was dj'ing in spain somewhere with a listening audience of around 1.5 million..i suspect that maybe that could have been 1.5 people..but i'm just guessing. I saw the Ped'ster last week in the above mentioned peternapper and he seemed to be in a similar state to which he was when i last saw him bout 10 years ago.. See ya's on the 11th
  4. I hav heard the cortinas a few times of late as well as a number of others and can't understand Biz's beef, The Cortinas aren't a band who indulge themselves in there own self adulation and play note for note to try and impress some music critic from the N.M.E. who may be in the crowd but a bunch of guys who enjoy there music, envolve the crowd and generally hav a good time. They seem to put a lot of ther'selves into there gigs and from what i saw the punters DID enjoy them.. If i wanted to hear bang on note for note punk/rock bands i would download the originals off the internet. Live club or pub bands are not pro's, if they were i'm sure they would be doing world tours like Biz's band does.
