BUMP! Competition ends at midnight tonight.
-
I only went to Chao Phraya once, it was good but not the earth-shattering meal I was expecting after reading Christy's reports of it.. Sadly we were the only people there, at like 7 on a Friday night.

Very much looking forward to this. The new album is quite brilliant.
-
I think he genuinely just needed a shit really badly.
-
Thanks to everyone who came out last night despite the awful weather.
-
It's a shame he's not playing the Lemon Tree this time, he seemed to really love it there.

Thomas Truax returns to Aberdeen, this time with support from Matricarians (Alan Davidson, Kitchen Cynics) and Craig John Davidson
"There's a fine line between the unique and the insane, and it's a line which New Yorker Thomas Truax (pronounced troo-aks) straddles with his chin held high and ' The Hornicator ' firmly glued to his left ear." - The Guardian
In the process of creating his Monthly Journal album, Thomas returns to the UK, no doubt bringing with him his band of self-constructed instruments, some Lynchian weirdness, and the latest news from Wowtown, all presented with an alt-folk flair which has made his live shows the stuff of legend.
Joining Thomas will be Alan Davidson's Matricarians project, the more abstract experimental loops-and-weirdness sibling to Kitchen Cynics.
"Alan Davidson & his Matricarians cohorts create haunted soundscapes from singing bowl, guitar, zither, clarinet, piano and theremin...Gorgeous Stuff." - Melody Bar
Rounding off the bill is singer-songwriter Craig John Davidson, whose finely crafted acoustic folk has made him a regular fixture on the local gig circuit, and has provided support to the likes of I Am Kloot and The Pines.

JakeBassist, what bit of town are you in? Sounds rough as fuck.

Saw quite a few places around the same price that were basically just studio flats where they had split the living room in half to add a bedroom so as a result every room was small. At least our living room is a half decent size here.
When I was looking for a flat two years ago every second place I viewed was like this, the sad thing is I think people just go for these in desparation due to them being slightly cheaper than the alternative.
-
How low can they go?
-
I reckon the postie is nicking my Lovefilm DVDs. Cunt.

Not having a ticket for Arab Strap tonight and not being able to go even if I did have one...
-
People who let off fireworks at 2 in the morning. Was anyone else woken up by this last night?
-
Someone left a beer bottle filled with piss on my doorstep this morning. Nearly knocked it over going to work.

Utter cunt.
Other good stuff about the gig, the lovely 3LP version of the album they were selling at the merch stand.
-
Great gig, some arsehole's phone went off repeatedly though which was an annoyance.
-
You might be better off listing it on Discogs/eBay and get much more for it if you can be arsed.
Great price for the lot though, skint right now otherwise I would have went for it.
-
Should be a good un.
-
A good night, as is usual from these performers. Was going to post a few photos, but the gallery seems to have vanished - it's been a while since I've been on here.
Stick them up on the songkick page for the gig?

Pulp a few weeks back in London. A little too much off We Love Life to be honest but I'm not complaining.
Had to leave during Misshapes in the encore to get the sleeper train back to Aberdeen though.

The death of 120 minutes was pretty much the death of music televison for me. Remember you could put together a playlist yourself on their website and it would come on at 2 in the morning? Great times.
