Think I was 14/15 when K came out. I thought it was the dogs bollocks. Can't say the same for the new album.
-
So, with the exception of Frosty Jack, we'll see you all tonight?
-
You're right, you look like a wanker saying it either way.
This is true.
-
Nah, no way was that owned, that was pwned, definitely.
Can anyone tell me the difference by the way?
There really is no difference.
-
If you mean that in the sense that the ladies of Aberdeen lap it up, then thank you.
No, I meant it takes a wee wank to produce it.

Having watched the videos I must now apologise for the "half-baked Ocean Colour Scene" remark.
To Ocean Colour Scene.
I would now say that Lady Mercedes are more like a half-baked Menswear.s
I'm sure Ocean Colour Scene wouldn't be offended by your remark & to be honest, neither am I. It would be foolish to get my knickers in a twist over someone who's patter is like cum.

Haven't watched the videos yet, but surely the videos and everything else on a myspace page is supposed to promote the band and encourage folk to come to gigs. If you have stuff on there that shows you in a poor light do you really expect folk t give you the benefit of the doubt and pay to see you anyway?
Most people just come because they like the songs, or because they enjoyed our last gig. I see what you mean about the videos, we welcome criticism & noone until now has told us that they're that bad. It's like when you record a rough demo & you think it's the business until someone tells you otherwise. You scrap it, move on & to make the next one better.
-
Oh dear. They're not a great advert imo, I'm afraid. Normally I'd be interested in any band that aspired to be the Faces. But those vids - especially the second one - are just embarrassing.
Don't mean to sound harsh, just my opinion. Sorry.
Hey, everyone's entitled to their opinion. Don't judge us on poor videos though, come to a gig & judge us on that. If you still don't like us, fair enough.
-
Are the videos on Myspace a fair representation of you now?
I'd say they would be a fair representation of us 6 months ago. The tracks are only a month old, however.

Ah man, I've been wanting to see Liars Dice for ages, Pure Lead were my favourite ever Aberdeen band.
Don't think I can make it on Friday though, and not just saying that because Lady Mercedes are on.
It's saturday but I'm sure that's what you meant.
-
The full line-up is: (not sure about the running order, except that LM are on last)
Lady Mercedes
Black Alley Screens
Pearl Jammin
Liars Dice

Ouch!
...Who are the special guests?
I believe the special guests are a Pearl Jam tribute band.

My brother used to be a bouncer & he knows the bouncers at The Tunnels & claims that they're all wankers who only work there because nowhere else tolerates their power trips.
-
Apparently so. My source on this however is my father in law, and he could have got it wrong.
From what I read, if Dunfermline win the scottish cup, they go straight into the first round proper, which means they only have to play one tie to get to the group stages. If Celtic win however, Aberdeen will enter at the first round & Dunfermline will have to play in the qualifying rounds.

I would happily see the back of Langfield - he's far too inconsistent.
To say Langfield is inconsistent is like saying Boruc is inconsistent. Both have 13 clean sheets in the league this season. Sounds pretty consistent to me. Fair enough, he's made a few judgemental errors, but the fact that only Gordon & McGregor have more clean sheets speaks for itself.

I could be wrong with this, but I think that you need to pass a test to drive anything with more than 8 seats in it - unless they've passed their car test about 10 years ago or before. Seeing as the drivers will be under 25, they wouldn't have got that entitlement and so wouldn't be legal to drive anything over 8 seats. I'm not sure whether it's the amount of seats or amount of passengers carried that counts - but seeing as you can't drive a bus without passing a test (regardless of the amount of passengers), i'd be inclined to believe that it's the number of seats that counts.
5th Gear Car hire - Cheap minibus rental. seems to back up what I thought..
Well Practical told us that you only need to have had a standard driving license for 3 years & they gave us a 17 seater with no problems.

Practical Van Hire are quite reasonably priced.

I find it hilarious that all these eastern countries break up, due to civil war, but they all stick together when it comes to shit like Eurovision.

Some fair points there and like I said it's only an opinion - like all these lists are. I guess the dilemma is in how you define "great".
One dull, conventional sprinter does 100m in 9 secs, another takes 10 secs, but does in style and with "attitude". Who's the greater sprinter - easy, the faster guy. Race-fixing aside, it's totally objective.
Who is the most popular sprinter - the answer to that might be something quite different - because that's completely subjective.
That's why I believe that "Greatest..." or "Best..." lists are a joke. "Most Popular..." or "Favourite..." would be more appropriate.
All the best.
Nail on head.

There are things like these all over the internet. Most of them claim to be freelance A&R reps, who used to work with or have connections with all the right people in the industry. But if they really are, is it really a big deal to pay them $30 or whatever if you're confident that they'll be impressed with your music?
-
And he's signed shite like Byrne, Brewster, Dempsey, Touzani, Daal.
.
I think you'll find, if you visit footy forums etc that most dons fans rate Touzani & Daal very highly and reckon they should both be regulars in the first team next season.
-
How many do you need to win?
To win 100k I need only Bond Street.
-
That is a lot of McDonalds!
Well, you get 4 cards with a large meal & I usually go with my girlfriend & my son so it's not really that many.

I love it. They even made Ian Brown sound good. The rhythm section is amazing throughout and even though Squire took most of his licks from Jimmy Page, i think he did it pretty damn well.
I still get a shiver down my spine when I listen to Tears.
