Crowds in Aberdeen will always vary from night to night. I personally won't spend £20 to go see a band (with a very few exceptions), but I think the whole idea of this site is to promote locally produced talent and to encourage it. Also to support smaller bands that make the trek up here. We are all guilty of just sitting back, or standing at the bar to watch bands when we could go down the front and show some support ( like maxi's dancing at take a worm for a walk week which was brilliant (the band not the dancing )) but regardless it pumps bands up when they can see people enjoying themselves.
So lets get up off our seats and show these bands that we care about live music. And not lose our local scene to apathy.
for what it's worth.

Anyway' date=' I thought Death By Dave had very good songs I enjoyed them a lot. The banter between songs was amusing to start with but by the end it was a bit wearing. But I'd go see them again.
[/quote']
Yeah sorry bout talkin so much shit, can't help myself. I had been getting better (I think) but kinda got carried away. Will try not to be as stupid next time.
Good to hear that people enjoyed it, I had a good night even though I was exhausted and finished work just as the doors opened.
Enjoyed the videos and data panik but was much too tired to dance.
Hope to see some of you at the lemon tree lunchtime gig on 19th January

No that was just for halloween

Electronic punk!!!!!!!
we thought it was a gig for weirdos with electronic toys and a penchant for stupidity!!
We cannot compete with that wee blurb about Data - Panik. So here's me tryin.........
Death by Dave were formed in early 2005 by a couple of stoners who thought it'd be funny. Suddenly it seemed everyone wanted a piece of them and they were forced to hole themselves up in a recording studio (Special Hell studios (also known as Dave's bedroom)) for many, many minutes and came up with the drivvell that is the Death by Dave e.p. (at One - Up for a mere 2.50). Following the phenomenal mediocrity of response they stopped doing anything until someone actually asked them to. They are gonna suck but it'll be like car crash tv and everyone loves that...............
So everyone raise your hands in the air and dance in the glow of the lamp

Yes the hard drinking, hard rocking, hard assed blokes of Dead Glamour Girl will be back up on February 12th @ Cafe Drummonds in the first joint Kabuki / Short, fat 'n' uglee music night.
It'll be their 2nd tour in under 5 months and these guys rock so you'd best get down.
Tour support comes from All fall Down with local act to be confirmed. Expect impecible musicianship, mosh pits and sweat.
you can chech them out at http://www.deadglamourgirl.com
or http://www.myspace.com/deadglamourgirl
I know this is quite a while away but I will remind you nearer the time.
In the meantime check out the band and show them some love from up north.
cheers

The Vandelays will be tearing it up down in Glasgow on the 22nd @ Nice 'n' Sleazy with Le Reno Amps and Blitzhoney. Great Xmas warm-up.
Then they'll be back in Aberdeen for the 27th @ Cafe Drummonds with The Beard and another (as yet unnamed) band all for the miserly sum of 3. Get rid of your hangovers and join the party (you can stay and dance til 2am).
And if all that wasn't good enough for you they'll be back at Cafe Drummonds on 12th January for Arkade Projects night with Fickle Public.
Will keep y'all posted on costs and door times.
See everyone there.

I am also a member of the fabulous Death by Dave (who get much less hassle on this site)
the band comprises of Dave who is Dave (The Vandelays/ Nero) Dave who is Jamie (me) and Dave who is a lamp (really.... he sits in my bedroom when he's not on stage with us).
That's it (e.p.of Death by Dave available at One-up for a mere 2.50)
-
The Vandelays are brilliant. Unquestionably so. I shall be there (and not just cos my flat mate plays in them.
-
It's just a name. Jesus.
-
I must agree with the excellence of the new album, and the awesome song titles.
-
Wait till you hear him play/sing!!!
o_O
Tut Tut Tut, artist bashing. Just cos you don't like it doesn't mean you have to be cruel. I'm hurt, no really I'm crushed. On a thread I started no less. I mean if you really wanted to have a go you could've said something like Only the tunnels will put him on cos it's the only venue with no windows, or at least something with a little thought in it.
No go on it'll be fun, let's see if you are truly committed to disliking my music, that way at least I've created a reaction.
Shall I go on?
Nah wasted enough time already (1 min, more time than it deserved but I got carried away).
Bye Bye now!
-
Tunnels open mic has been moved to tuesday nights (about bloody time).(wayhey!!!!!)
Hosted by the marvellous Angry Scott.
If you wanna get gigs in Aberdeen as a solo acoustic performer best idea is to go along to Open mic on thursdays at Cellar 35 and play. Then speak to Andy (can't miss him, hairy, mohawk) if he likes you he'll probably want to help you out.
-
My beautiful Ex-girlfriend (aka me) will be offending( ) all and sundry at the tunnels on Monday 11th of July.
Also on the bill is Amber (gorgeous and a good singer) and...ummmm i forget but someone else great.
Door tax is the usual 3
Kick off around 9ish
See y'all down there.
P.s. death by dave the E.P. is now available at one-up for the paltry sum of 2.50

This is the one with the beard from Death by Dave.
Cheers for your support guys. I also thouroughly enjoyed the evening. Big up to andy for putting it on and the guys on the sound desk who had to deal with the technical nightmare that is Death by Dave.
P.S. Death by Dave - the e.p. is now available at one-up for the paltry sum of 2.50
