  1. I hear good things about Justified and Sons of Anarchy, wouldn't mind watching them but have three seasons of The Wire and two of Dexter to catch up on before I can even think about starting to watch anything new.

I'd recomment Sons of Anarchy, I've seen the first 2 series and really like it, can't wait for series 3 to start. I've seen the first 9 episodes of Justified and it's alright, nothing special so I wouldn't go out of your way to watch it.

Has anyone watched any Community? I loved it, the first comedy program I've watched in ages that actually made me laugh out loud.

  2. I saw ....

Friday - Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kings of Leon and Crystal Castles

Saturday - Lady GaGa (thought she was awful), Mr Scruff, White Lies, Foals, Razorlight (bit dull), bit of Killers and Nine Inch Nails

Sunday - Boys Noize, Simian Mobile Disco, Pendulum (i know most folk on here seem to hate them, but i like them) and Blur

I thought Nine Inch Nails were brilliant and my highlight of the weekend. Also really enjoyed the Foals and Blur (who might have been my hightlight if they'd been able to do their full set)

  3. Does anyone else's game freeze in Evergreen Mills? Everytime I walk up the railway track by the prisoners, as soon as I turn the corner where the 2 raiders are standing on the overhead walkway the game freezes.

Don't know if this is the answer you want but..my xbox kept freezing at random points during the game, then it happened in other games and then i got the red ring of death (in the space of about a week).

My xbox is now on its way back from germany after getting fixed

  4. i had a better go at it today and was doing quite well but i'm now pinned down in a house in dc with super brutes all around me and not a lot of ammo. i just want to get to the bloody radio station!

I'm going round in circles in the metro, with little ammo trying to get to the radio station.....

Really enjoying the game but it should come with a warning - its one of those games that give me motion sickness if i run around too much :(

  6. Watched Wall-E at the weekend and it's now my favourite animated film, possibly the sweetest film i've ever seen.

Also watched Saw 4, was alright, Tropic Thunder, ok, funny but i could have done without Tom Cruise and Wedding Daze, also alright.

  7. Ah good, a rant thread.

I applied to open a current account with Nationwide online as I'm off on holiday soon and they don't charge to use your card abroad. This was over a month before we're due to leave, plenty of time.

The website said that they would only need to send me a letter to get my signature, and that they would verify my ID themselves and that they would be in touch if somehow it didn't work, which was fine. I then received the letter asking me for my signature stating that when I returned the letter signed "and the documents we need" they would open my account. Problem being that there was no indication of what these documents were. I went back to the website, double checked the ID requirements and sure enough, no documents required. So I signed the letter and sent it back.

Twenty minutes later I get a response from the email enquiry telling me that I must go into a branch with 2 forms of ID before anything can happen. o_O

Strange. I also applied for this card cos of the no charges on holiday thing, about 2 weeks ago and I worried if i'd get it in time (off tomorrow). I applied online, the letter arrived saying that i should sign it, and it also had that bit about ID. I went to the branch in town, said i needed it quickly and queried the ID bit. They told me they'd take my application, process it for me and that i didn't need to show any ID. The card arrived a couple of days later. The only problem i have with them is i have nothing that has an account number on it anywhere so i can't do the online banking bit yet.

    The Blues Brothers

    The Usual Suspects

    Airplane

    Grosse Point Blank

    Layer Cake

    Infernal Affairs

    Pans Labyrinth

    Midnight Run

    The Way of the Gun

    Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

    The Matrix

  9. Gotta ask, is anyone else watching this years? I think it's been the best one in ages and last nights chili one was the funniest thing i have seen on TV in ages. I could not stop laughing

  10. I actually thought that the bit we camped in was alright, then i found today it was beside the bit the guy got stabbed at (thought i did see flashy lights through my tent that night). What bits were you camping in that were dodgy?

Thinking about it i didn't actually see that many acts over the weekend

    Friday -

    Stereophonics (good)

    The Music (really good)

    The Chemical Brothers (brilliant)

    Saturday -

Rage (saw the start and would have stayed but i really wanted to see Interpol)

Air Traffic (got bit lost and went in wrong tent on way to Interpol, stayed for a song, was alright)

    Interpol (really good)

    Sunday

Miss Kitten and the Hacker (really good)

DJ Hell (got a bit bored)

Pendulum (really good, but could have been longer)

Kings of Leon (saw bits while trying to find food/drink/toilet and yes they did sound slower than normal)

Hot Chip (saw a couple of songs while queing for the toilets)

The Prodigy (excellent, they were my highlight, completely knackered by the end of the set)

On sunday after the Prodgy we headed to the silent disco and it lived up to its name, the power went out so no music. While waiting to see if it could get fixed we all ended up singing stupid songs and dancing instead (Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, the Hokey Cokey, the Congo etc), it was a really good laugh. Went down to the Duracell tent instead and don't know who was playing but it was a good way to end the night.

Was it just me or was there a lack of toilets around, and when you did find some they were disgusting? (I think i was a bit spoilt at Rockness cos they were quite nice and clean there)

  11. :) Can't believe how well i'm doing! Normally hopeless at these things.
